This is the perfect opportunity to drag Scottish Football into the 21st Century.

Turn it in to a showcase of Scottish football, where one ticket allows you to see both games.

A 30 minute break between the games with live music and pipe bands on the pitch.

4 sets of supporters allowed to mingle freely in a Festival of Footballing Friendship.

This could be the Scottish Superbowl.

What could possibly go wrong ?

I like your thinking !  Michelle McManus for half time!?

We took 20k to our semi with Dundee United in 2015.

Funnily enough it was Saturday at 3pm. A coincidence I’m sure.

So even with earlier trains and the weans having no school on the sunday, Aberdeen can only take around 12k fans to a midday ko in Glasgow

Fucking part timers lol

Aye he really looks like he's doing the bidding for Hearts and Aberdeen fans here.

If Aberdeen aren’t happy with the decision-making then they should get a better candidate and canvass for the required votes: Doncaster’s hardly a formidable opponent. Budge has both expressed her disapproval and has stood to try and change things.

Aberdeen by contrast have done precisely nothing to improve how Scottish football is run despite being always at the top table since Rangers’ hilarious death, so their complaints are crocodile tears really.

Yes we've got it, run to remove Doncaster directly or you're not allowed to complain about anything no matter what it is.

Strange argument you're putting forth. On the one hand you're telling Aberdeen to shut up and stop complaining and then you're railing against them for not doing more to change how things are being run?

Regarding the Morton game it seems pretty sensible to suggest playing a game that ended up with 16k attendance at Easter Road or Tynecastle rather than a 2/3rds empty Hampden. Would have had a better atmosphere at the very least.

It’s not strange at all - the SPFL is a body run by the clubs and Aberdeen have been ever-present at the top table of the club game in recent years. So their club officials should not be taken seriously when they issue yet another bullshit statement expressing outrage at the SPFL’s decision-making while doing nothing to change things.

It was not even remotely sensible to add an entirely unnecessary, additional hour travel time to one side in a cup semi final rather than holding it as originally scheduled in the national stadium in the biggest city in the country. The crucial point however is that Aberdeen didn’t plan on splitting the tickets for an Edinburgh match anyway - they demanded fully three quarters of the ground to turn it effectively into a home tie. They were rightly told to f**k off, which brought a similar, shambolic club statement about the injustice of it all.

Given how Aberdeen tried to give it the billy big baws treatment to a mere provincial club in the same round of the cup just two years ago, it’s quite amusing to see their fans now complaining about the bigot clubs’ influence on the decision.

If you want to change the way these decisions are made then yes that is the only credible approach. If you’re quite happy with Doncaster but want to appease the gormless sections of your fanbase then a cringeworthy club statement will suffice. Of which Aberdeen have churned out many in the last five years.

Except this situation is the equivalent of us saying we want it moved to Edinburgh, you telling us to f**k off and the SPFL saying who cares we’re doing it anyway, and releasing a statement saying all clubs agreed to it.

Then throw into the mix that there may be no public transport to get you to the game and see what your reaction would be.

What a ridiculous narrow interpretation of when it's ok or not to react to events as they happen. Basically saying the SPFL should have carte-blanche to do whatever they want without complaint until the next opportunity to remove the leadership. Imagine if that sort of logic was applied to everything in life.

Any and all of which Aberdeen would have been delighted to go along with two years ago in the similar circumstances if it suited them. So they’re not actually standing for any principle but are just raging that they’re not big enough of a deal to get fixtures moved around for them.

Not quite sure the opinions of a west coaster holds much relevance here tbh.

There's no way Morton fans would have the same difficulty getting from Greenock to Edinburgh on a Saturday  as it is from Aberdeen to Glasgow on a Sunday so it's not the same at all. Adding that it was also forcing extra travel for Aberdeen fans  to play at a deserted stadium when the occasion would have been vastly improved at Easter Road or Tynecastle.

So again not the same at all as some imagined slight you have in your head.

So your point is we would’ve been happy if we’d got our preference?

Thanks for the input mate.
