H Wragg
The police aren't going to let Celtic and Rangers play in Glasgow on the same day.Play the semi on Sunday 4th (QP at home on the Sat) and just postpone the league game until a later date rather than attempt to play it the previous week. H Wragg
Poster is just confusing himself. Playing the league game the week before is irrelevant: they'd be postponing 4 league games anyway and indeed doing it this way would mean only postponing 3:Sunday 28th October(Hampden) Rangers v Aberdeenpostponed - Aberdeen v Livingston, Hibs v RangersSaturday 3rd or Sunday 4th November (Hampden) Celtic v Heartspostponed - Celtic v HeartsQueens Park are at home on Sat 3rd so that may limit the semi to the 4th. Which would leave celtic with 2 dates to find for league games.
topcat(The most tip top)
If they play it at Murrayfield I’ll go but I’m not traipsing across to the arse end of Glasgow again just for the league cup.

Which would leave celtic with 2 dates to find for league games. You'd have to move it, not necessarily postpone it outright - e.g. it could be played on Monday 29th (admittedly you'd then need to rejig some subsequent games). Whatever happens is going to be a balancing act of dates; Glasgow + policing concerns; stadium size; number of games postponed and/or number of games moved. Playing both on Sunday 28th October also sounds unlikely given you'd have Celtic, Rangers, Aberdeen and potentially Hearts fans sharing transport at the same time? Unless of course they played both SFs on weekend of November 3rd-4th.

RedRob72
Good to see we got Aberdeen. That's the one I wanted. No Morelos or Lafferty though Will probably be Kent upfront then. Aye, and more of a concern than where and on which day it’s played tbh.

I think the 3rd 4th plan sounds the best. 3rd/4th is complicated by the fact that Sky are broadcasting St Mirren v Rangers on the 3rd, so they're unlikely to want to postpone that for a BT Sport match. bennett
Sevco to play on the Saturday is the only option, sporting integrity demands it.
effeffsee_the2nd
hearts v celtic at murrayfield is the most sensible option, only 2 teams need to travel , there will be enough demand for tickets and , if it was a lunch time kick off then the celtic fans will be making their way home whilst the rangers fans are busy watching their game . 10menwent2mow
If it is to be Murrayfield and hampden on the Sunday then the sensible thing would be Celtic v Hearts at Murrayfield at lunchtime (ample public transport opportunities for celtic fans to get to Edinburgh) and Aberdeen v Rangers at hampden in the afternoon (similarly ample opportunities for dons fans to get to Glasgow). So we all know it'll be dons v rangers at Murrayfield at 11am and celtic v hearts at hampden at

Also both those kick off times would make it difficult for Aberdeen fans using public transport to either get there or get home on a Sunday. Especially if there was extra time. Hughsie
Just a reminder (one that shouldn’t be needed on a forum filled with such great football minds) that it’s the SPFL who organise this competition. It has zero to do with the SFA and therefore the Murrayfield baggage is irrelevant. I still think there would be major issues with hosting either of these games at Murrayfield though. Would be surprised if that’s what they go with.
