They had their U17 team playing at Duncansfield for a few years in the early 2000's. About £80 a game as I remember it. When they were asked for a bit more they promptly maved elsewhere. Never a complaint from them about the condition of the pitch, it was all about money.

Black Pennel
So, after all that, the answer to the original question is that it probably won't make a blind bit of difference to QPFC recruiting players.
Krfc 10
Talbot Park is better surface than you’ll find at any pro club in Scotland .. magnificent pitch[emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji848][emoji848][emoji848]

Partick Thistle reserves are using lesser hampden this year at least. It caught my eye at the time because there used to be the development league rule of having to use a licensed ground. Glenconner
Used to attend games regularly (60/70/80s) at Lesser Hampden back in the days when top flight Senior teams would send a reserve team with well known international players to play the Queens. It was a complete dump. Seems like a good bit of work has taken place since then going by the pictures shown here.

When Hampden opened in 1903, the original Lesser Hampden was a pitch in front of the old South Stand which was there for many years afterwards. In 1923, Queen's Park bought Clincart Farm and opened the present Lesser Hampden. The farmhouse and byre are the old white buildings still in use today. It's said they're the oldest buildings used in world football. Listed? Here's Hampden in the distance when Clincart Farm was still in existence before Lesser Hampden was built. And I’m sure even lesser Hampden knocks the spots off most junior set ups. Plus the deal also leaves the club with several million pounds burning a hole in their pockets and the opportunity to pay pretty lavish “expenses” to any new recruits... Half the money is being given back to the SFA by Lord whatever his name is, so that's them down to £2.5 million. By the time they get Lesser Hampden up to scratch there won't be much left I can't imagine. Turnstiles, new stand, terracing, new roof, better floodlights; it all costs! It'll pay for Gus McPherson's ludicrous salary (assuming he's getting the silly money that Gardner Spiers was on) for a few years and not much else. If the planning application from before the Commonwealth Games redevelopment is to be believed then the floodlights meet the bronze standard required of 300 lux (average), so that's one less thing to worry about if they don't want to spend more than required!
