Giants are struggling to get any pressure on the QB who is only starting his 2nd pro game. Giants reply with Manning finding OBJ for a TD on a 4 play drive that started with a Corey Coleman 51 yard kickoff return. Odell is having his way with the 49ers secondary. After a Niners 3 and out the Giants get inside the red zone but again have to settle for a FG to tie the game at 20. Giants can’t capitalise and go 3 and out. After some pretty turgid offensive possessions which included Eli under-throwing OBJ when he would of walked into the end zone the 49ers kicked the go-ahead FG with 2.46 to play after 6 minute drive. The Giants reply with a TD drive (Eli to Shepherd) which both sides committed stupid penalties, especially the Niners who handed New York 2 automatic first downs. Eli actually looked great on that drive. The Giants took a 27-23 lead with 53 seconds remaining. A bullshit roughing the passer call gave the 49ers a nice start and 3 straight completions got them inside the Giants 25 with 1 second remaining. Mullens then overthrew his receivers and the Giants held on for the victory.A thrilling victory in the end to give us our 2nd W of the season. More positives than negatives to take out of that. Eli showed flashes of his old self while the O-Line protected him well and only gave up 1 sack. The defence forced 2 INTs but couldn’t get any pressure on the QB. Saquon had a quiet 2nd half but did have a big time reception on our final drive to get inside the 10. 49ers will feel they only have themselves to blame and I feel sorry for George Kittle who was superb again. Aaron Donald is just a beast, a generational talent? My only gripe is the amount of penalties. Some of it has been undisciplined play by KC but a lot is the ref’s being flag happy.
