Dunfermline Athletic vs Alloa Athletic

Recommended Posts

Two Scotland games and a couple of meaningless cup matches before this one but it's already a big game for the Pars. It's been a very poor start to the season, with three defeats out of four and the team is leaking goals.

AJ has a good record against part-time sides but Alloa have performed well in their last two outings, so it's likely to be a tough challenge. However, three points are much needed and anything less would be a big blow for our hopes of a top four finish - and for AJ's short-term future as Pars boss.

Agent Smith will have handed in his dossier before departing on his latest mission. Not sure that, even if you knew the opposition inside out, how helpful that would be ...since our own team are almost an unknown quantity.

Probably be a draw and AJ detractors will be shouting about crises.

8 new players in this season, very different from last. starting to look good too.  hopefully we can pile on the misery if we are more clinical in front of goal we can win this .

Why did we start giving false attendances anyway?
Short answer - cos Falkirk do and we wanted to get in on the crowdwanking action.

Longer answer - they've already paid for a ticket so it's a legitimate way of counting all who have paid to see the game and if it increases the attendance figures it makes it easier to sell sponsorship, advertising boards etc. It's a nonsense. Attendance should mean no. of people who attend. The clue is in the name.

I've always thought this was daft because sponsors will know this as well. No one is fooled by this nonsense.

Right, looking forward to this game now I've decided to head along. I'd really like to see a good win & clean sheet but I'll take a scrappy 1-0 given recent results.

Higgy went off on Sat and looks like he's struggling with a groin injury. That's a shame as he was perhaps the only bright spark during the Inverness debacle.

Hopefully Williamson's confidence will have been boosted by being away with the U21s as he's had a poor start to the season.

Would love to see Beadling in the starting XI but don't think he'll be ready yet. Faiss also badly needs a goal or two.
