If the coach thinks they were poor it's because Queen's park made them look poor.

Yes. He didnt admit it but that was plain for everyone to see. He said in yesterdays interview where mention of  QP was studiously  avoided that he expects his team to create 6 or 7 good scoring opportunities in a game (ie in the Welsh league); he didnt mention that they were given very few scoring opportunities on Saturday.

If as he said after the game that his team were giving 20 - 30%  because they were only facing a mid table Scottish 2nd Division side surely they would have realised long before the end that they needed to up their game - no, it was because they were knocked out of their stride by an energetic  skillfull team and couldnt get their expected domination of the game.

Shot himself in the foot there. If the manager can't get his team motivated above 30% in a cup tournament they want to win (his own words) his boss is bound to wonder if he's the right man for the job.

I meant he said 20 - 30% LESS, sorry!

You can understand his disappointment right after a match he expected to win in a tournament that was so important to him (TNS kept saying how much they wanted to go "one step further" this year, ie to the final). But that doesnt excuse his ungraciousness towards worthy opponents.

Another thing I noticed was their assistant saying how unlucky they were not to reach last seasons final - "we should have beaten Dumbarton" he said. He didnt mention that Dumbarton struggled to get a team on the pitch with injuries and suspensions, nor did he mention that TNS were lucky to get past Livi and QOS on penalties after being 2nd best in both games. AND every time they had home advantage.

No wonder the rest of the Welsh league despise them, with their arrogance and sense of self entitlement.

The TNS manager is coming over as a walloper. The Irn Bru Cup gives his team the opportunity for competitive football rather than the cake walk of their own league where the owner flings money at then. If he's rested guys, it's backfired. The frustration from a couple of his guys who got pretty thuggish towards the end perhaps backed that up.

Great to win the game and the next round is winnable.... but let's not take it as read that we'll win!!!

Bad losers. Listening to all their post match talk they're really hurt - and good.

I hope QP get past St Mirren Colts
