It's fair to assume that any competent lawyer could drive a bus right through the middle of all this.

And I'm sure there is one attempting just that currently for Bonnyrigg...

Full members who can vote at the SFA AGM?.....

Well there was what, 90 member clubs prior to the 6 new members, and 42 SPFL clubs.  So the balance between SPFL and the rest was tipped a long time ago.

So we have more member clubs at tier 5&6?

SPFL = 42

Non-SPFL =was 48 at the last AGM with Selkirk. Now 53 with the 6 new additions minus Selkirk.

There's meant to be another 12 applicants with in the pyramid and 2 from the Juniors. The 12 in the pyramid include the likes of Bonnyrigg who were rejected but that's not going to stop them getting there eventually.

What was the reason that there was no play off between the South and East for lowland league promotion

Stranraer reserves won SOS. Reserve teams can't play above tier 6.

Does that set the precident for teams going up or down, is non licence compliance classed the same or treated differently

If you don't hold an SFA Licence you are ineligible from participating in the EoS/SoS Lowland League Play-off. This is what has prevented the likes of LTHV and Leith Athletic from gaining promotion.

Reserve sides technically don't have an SFA Licence. Unless someone was to try to argue that the parent club(?) counts for that issue. Even if someone was to make that argument and be successful, in the Lowland League constitution you cannot have more than one team participate in leagues covered by the Professional Game Board (SPFL, HFL and LL).

Now that the playoff is by,I take it that will be the make up of the league complete for next season?.

Nothing official so far. Depending on who's interpretation of the rules you believe.

The Lowland League is either now at 16 teams with Whitehill saved from relegation as there's no licensed Tier 6 champion and Selkirk's vacancy.

Or

The Lowland League is at 15 teams, Whitehill have been relegated and there's a vacancy to be filled.

If there's no team eligible for promotion then surely there is no relegation, or you end up with a scenario if relegated on the pitch and replace by off the pitch means....

Am I being silly here but there SHOULD be more teams in the lower levels of the pyramid, the further down you go, the more there should be,.  Is that not the case?

I am of the opinion that Whitehill Welfare haven't been relegated as their is no licensed Tier 6 champion and that because of the vacancy caused by Selkirk the Lowland League is now at exactly 16 members. Which means the additional means of relegation caused by the Berwick coming down does not apply.

Others have made the arguement that the Selkirk vacancy can only be filled by application or that Berwick coming down causes Whitehill to be relegated.

You can have a look of the rule and come to your own conclusion:

There are. This is about the full members of the SFA. People see it as a tail wagging the dog type situation where the greater number of non-league SFA members, the less say that the money making SPFL have in the running of the game.

Membership granted with immediate effect

We are pleased to announce that we have had confirmation from the SFA this morning that our application for SFA membership has been approved with immediate effect.

We are aware that this will result in another series of follow on questions so this page will be updated as and when we have further information to provide, but given our supporters have waited patiently over the course of the past few months on an outcome we felt it right to release what we know so far.

There are a whole host of people we need to thank who have got us to this stage and will do so as part of the update.
