Top 5s Watch 2018-19

Recommended Posts

Kind of the opposite of a trapdoorwatch... 'loft hatch watch'?... as clubs aim for the top 5 in their respective conference and a place in next season's reestablished EOSL Premier Division.

Top 6 could well be good enough for at least 1 or 2 of the teams especially following Selkirk's demise, so points & GD could also come into play for those sides.

At this early stage these are the teams setting the pace across the conferences:

Conference A

1   Dunbar        P3  7pts

2   Penicuik      P2  6pts

3   Easthouses    P2  6pts

4   Arniston      P4  6pts

5   Leith         P3  6pts

--------------------------

6   Newtongrange  P2  4pts

Conference B

1   Dundonald     P4 10pts

2   Bonnyrigg     P3  7pts

3   Bo’ness       P2  6pts

4   Tynecastle    P1  3pts

5   Dunipace      P2  3pts

--------------------------

6   Sauchie       P2  3pts

Conference C

1   Linlithgow    P2  6pts

2   Broxburn      P2  6pts

3   Jeanfield     P2  6pts

4   Heriot-W Uni  P3  6pts

5   Camelon       P3  6pts

--------------------------

6   Craigroyston  P3  6pts

Ranking of 6th place

1   Craigroyston  6pts

-----------------------

2   Newtongrange  4pts

3   Sauchie       3pts

Another point on conference call is that.linlithgow Broxburn and Jeanfield haven't played each other but camelon have played all 3

Broxburn have played Jeanfield twice won 2-0 and lost 4-2 aet both in Perth albeit both in cups.  I agree that this is still a 4 way contest but still think Linlithgow are favourites but the other 3 will be there or thereabouts

Yeh it was in league I meant I knew yous had played them in cups. For us to do it we need the other 3 take points off each other then we can have a transit van Saturday

I only added this in to reinforce your point in that the two games were split.  If that happens in the league then Camelon have a chance to make up ground.

p.s. Congratulations on the cup win.  May not have been the way you wanted it but it’s a cup win nevertheless

Many are delighted to see Bo'ness lagging in 7th. Imagine they failed to make the Premier next season :-)

There now seems to be a definite top 5/6 forming in each conference. So on this basis teams like Penicuik, Bonnyrigg, Linlithgow, Broxburn to name a few are in contention to win a conference, and following play-offs become EoS Champions. Can anyone clear up how many are eligible for promotion to the LL given the licence situations? Given the big influx of clubs coming over from the juniors would they be given promotion on the basis that licence criteria is met within a set time period? Seems puzzling to entice all these teams into the EoS to join the pyramid when they can't gain promotion in the first season.

They have to be licensed by 31st March to play in the playoffs
