Partick Thistle vs Greenock Morton

First game I'd managed to get to this season, so first time I'd seen a few of our new players.  Thoughts on the game

- Morton were the better side early on, but didn't really create much.  Actually looked quite similar to a lot of our performances last season.  On top for the most part but couldn't translate it into anything meaningful, then ended up losing.
- McGinty looks like he's made out of old pipes and has a ridiculously tiny head.  Very limited, but sometimes we're going to need someone who just boots it to f**k
- Brice Tambers looks like he might be a good signing for us, but that's only on his second half performance.  He looked short of fitness, slow, and just generally lumbering and terrified early on.  Seemed to calm down a bit after making a decent tackle and run, so hopefully it's a sign of things to come.  Looks like he'll actually be a threat at set pieces too
- Bannigan didn't do much when he came on, but what he did looked good.  Also great to see him back from his perspective.  Mate of mine was on a stag do with someone quite close to him, and said that he was definitely finished.  Talking shite.
- Actually good in a way to see Scully put in a decent performance.  He looked good for us after a (very) shaky start until he got his bad injury, never felt he deserved the stick he always got.  Brilliant to see him on the losing side of course (did our first go straight through him?) but hope he does well.  Not too well, but well.
- The officials have a lot of explaining to do.  Not that we'll ever get it, but it would be really interesting to find out what went on.  Can only presume the linesman never thought it was a goal, he patiently waited for the ball to go into touch, and gamely flagged for a throw.  Wrong, but seems like he made his decision and stuck to it.  I wonder what the referee thought he saw - looked like he was fine with the goal until well into our celebrations, then went over.  If he's had his mind changed, then that's much worse than just the one mistake.  But it's a pretty basic one to make, it's not a matter of opinion, or anything like that.  It's a yes or no on whether the ball crossed the line.  It did.
- I mean, the net fucking rippled.
- Luckily the game wasn't ruined by the decision.  Did well to hold on to what we had, and don't think we ever looked like we descended into the usual pattern of desperately clinging on.  Hopefully another decent win isn't followed up by a complete capitulation this time.

The same gormless fanbase that unsuccessfully planted their week's giro on a Morton win now seem rather excitable after that breathtaking 1-0 thrashing of a managerless outfit. It'll be back to tears, snotters and 'Archibald out!111!111!' by the end of the month though.

Monday afternoon, still apoplectic with rage.

Delicious.

To think that you quietly deleted your original post for being a shite comeback and that was the best replacement you could come up with.

Oh Nizzy. :(

The original post merely missed out Kyle's post. The joke's entirely on you.

Was it not Friday night that McKinnon left. He had the whole week to prepare the team. It is a poor excuse to blame the result on that.

I'm sure that's a huge consolation to you having seen your manager poached by not-even-a-top-flight-Falkirk, finishing below us in the group stages of the league cup and now losing 1-0 to us in the league, sport.

Translation: "We're utter shite and in much more disarray than you, having suddenly lost our manager to the team propping up the table, so bafflingly, I'm here to goad you about not thrashing us by a large enough margin.  There have been no tears, snotters or mentions of snakes from me or any other Morton fans on this site in the last 3 days. Your second goal by the wonderful Kris Doolan didn't hit the back of our net, either".
