If Celtic are on their game next week they will beat that Rangers side comfortably. On that evidence, their battle will be with Aberdeen and the two Edinburgh clubs for the 2nd/3rd/4th spots this season.

Given the nature of how we ended up getting the draw then I'm delighted with that. Had it finished say, 2-2 after the first half and then us missing numerous chances second half then it would be a different feeling but we've got to be chuffed with that.

There are draws and there are draws and today was the type of draw you feel chuffed to bits with. The other type of draw is the type when you more than match Rangers for 87 minutes then get awarded a penalty with minutes to go at 0-0 and then miss it. That type of draw leaves you feeling gutted, today's had the opposite effect.

Pretty much but it was so disappointing to lose a goal from our own corner kick in the 43rd minute.

You might say Rangers wouldn't have sat in 2nd half at 2-2 but that one passage of poor play could have cost us a victory because we were the utterly dominate side in the 2nd half.

When Sevco lose to Eire next week, as they usually do, they will have 5 points from 12.

Not sure where this amazing transformation under Stevie G is to be honest.

Decent chance they'll be 7 points behind Hearts and 4 behind Celtic this time next week. Not to mention being behind Hibs and Aberdeen.

Are we sure they will lose? Celtic are mince at the moment, I'd go 0-0 next week.

As for the game today, absolute belter to be honest, proper contest and Motherwell deserved all 3 points. Not sure how I'd feel if I was a Motherwell fan, delighted with the last minute GIRFUY to the scum but gutted not getting the deserved 3 points..

Peter Hartley, what a man

Can’t see nil nil as both defences are pish mate.

Hate Thomson but thought he had a half decent game today other than letting that diving, cheating cnut Moreorless away with his usual diving all over the place.

And the time-wasting which Gerrard seems to have installed. He must realise he has a poor team. He was never like that at Liverpool.

Hugely disappointing to concede so late, but hard to begrudge Motherwell a point, they kept coming at us right until the final whistle.
It was always going to be a slog today, but thought we responded well to their agricultural approach to the game. In recent seasons we have folded under a similar onslaught.
Cracking first half despite a couple of uncharacteristic lapses given our recent defensive improvements. Suppose Goldson couldn’t really be faulted for slipping on their opener, but the marking at the back stick for their 2nd was non-existent and Tav missing again I think for their equaliser.
Most of us can see he’s very capable going forward but the guy continues to leave us exposed on too many occasions across the back line. Great to see big Kyle back in the famous light Blue and in amongst the goals, it’s going to be a good move for both the player and club.
Mentions also this afternoon for Jack, Ejaria, Katic and Barisic before he was replaced.

All in all, an entertaining game, a hard won point and a fair result, with no major concerns going into Thursday’s 2nd leg in Russia.

Don't know if its been discussed but did someone throw a cup of juice at Bigri.......bigir.......the guy for Motherwell who it sounds like you are saying Big-man-ra or did he just happen to be lying next to some litter on the ground after the Hartley goal?

Poor show from Motherwell not having a Hartley celebration worked out that would've sent the SS over the edge.

Last season under Pedro it was 8 from 12 having played Motherwell, Hibs, Hearts, and Ross County...

Going to tabloid it:

Five Things we Learned from motherwell vs STEVIE G's REBORN RANGERS:

1) Bigirimana can be trusted in "big" games. His effort level was as good as it's been for us and by my biased view, was pretty much the best man in midfield today. His delivery from set pieces was crucial today. This is the player we hoped we'd got last season - up to him to show it again. MOTM.

2) Curtis Main looked like himself today. Whether he takes a few weeks to get going or he was just more motivated, I thought he gave the (hilariously poor but much hyped ) Rangers defence a right hard game of it.

3) Danny Johnston will be our top scorer this season.

4) Rangers have the most unlikable forward line since Hitler and Himler starred together for the Third Reich Strollers between the wars - absolute cunthooks both.

5)

Main was much more like himself today. A strong, battling performance and he gave that Goldson what for. We've not seen that Curtis Main since the Aberdeen semi final in April.

Nice graceless interview with Gerrard on SSN earlier.

The interviewer asked him about defensive frailties,  and he started having a go, asking him if he'd seen the other games.  When the Kilmarnock match was mentioned, Gerrard fired back that they won 3-1, with all the class of BobWilliamson.

Any setbacks so far have been minor, but Gerrard doesn't seem to handle them well.  It'll be interesting if he faces bigger ones this week.
