If the First Round ties went broadly by league position QFs would be:

Musselburgh/Hill of Beath v Camelon
Penicuik v Bonnyrigg
Tranent v Newtongrange/Bo'ness
Jeanfield v Broxburn

which would be extremely appetising. However many of the surviving smaller teams are going well currently and will be looking to spring a shock.

I'm sure those pairings also comes as a huge boon to Tranent + Bo'ness and also Jeanfield + Broxburn, as they haven't really had much opportunity to play each other this season...

Jeanfield v Dunbar

Good win for Dunbar yesterday - have some very decent players and well organised.

Broxburn could have played all day and not scored - just one of those days a mixture of poor finishing and great goalkeeping.

Good luck to Dunbar in the next round.  Should be a cracker against Jeanfield.

That brings an end to Broxburn's run of 13 wins in a row in all competitions. They hadn't failed to win since losing 2-0 at Jeanfield on 8 December.

If they could manage to not win one of their next two games I'd appreciate it...

Penicuik 2-4 Bonnyrigg

Twice the homesters led but Rose ultimately prevailed.

Does it lay down a marker for the title round-robin, or did either make notable adjustments to their strongest XIs?

Jeanfield v Dunbar

Is there any reason why Tranent v Bo’ness. can’t be played on Saturday may 4??

The winner would need to play two days later against Bonnyrigg?

Hope it doesn't go to extra time. It will be dark by the end.

Unless Tranent have a game it makes sense to play in the Saturday

And???

If Bonnyrigg progress in the king cup to play  Bo’ness, that game is scheduled for 22/5,with the semi on 24/5,still 2days difference

Maybe because the home side is unknown and it might be easier for the club that hosts to sell potential hospitality, tickets etc in 6 days rather than 2.

In further looking into it that won't happen as bonnyrigg game will only move to 22nd if they beat camelon and according to east copal del Rey feed if Bonnyrigg game is moved to 22nd the semi u refer to is moved to Wednesday 29th

It will be moved to the 29th only if Bonnyrigg are involved
