charger29
Hadn't really paid much attention to the latest FIFA drama until today. I get a feeling the Swiss prosecutors don't have much on Infantino. Not specifically related to the meetings anyway. If they did then surely it would have come out at some point in the investigation of the Swiss AG, Lauber? Although god knows who to trust in these type of investigations any more. Lauber looks like he might be in trouble anyway if he gets impeached. Everyone (at least 4, possibly 5) who attended the 2017 meeting had no recollection of it happening or what was discussed. The ethics body looking at Lauber's appeal believe they were all coached to give the same answers for questions relating to the meetings but have no proof so far. The 2015 meeting was arguably just as interesting as the other two despite Infantino not being head of FIFA at the time. According to the Swiss and German newspapers the 5th person who was at the meetings was Cédric Remund. He was in charge of the Swiss investigation into the 2006 WC corruption (which just passed the statute of limitations mid-trial because of Covid-19) and a dodgy UEFA TV rights deal in Argentina co-signed by Infantino. The investigations were both still active at the time. He's denying he was at the meeting and the ethics body from Lauber's appeal haven't specifically said he was but they do think a 5th person was there. If he was then the cycle of FIFA shit will continue some more.
