Theroadlesstravelled
Ross Stewart stretchered off with a potential Achilles injury today. He could be out for an extended period of time.

If he drops down to EF League One will he still get picked for Scotland? I've actually been impressed since he's come back. I'd be really intrigued to see a Shankland/Nisbet combo if Dykes is out. Obviously Adams has the shirt to lose currently, but it would be interesting to see - I think they could work together well
2426255
Shanklin and Nesbit would be a deadly duo.

Donathan
Che Adams needs wrapped up in cotton wool until March otherwise we might need to ask Craig Levein to take charge

accies1874
Damn that's annoying that he's not been given any opportunity to bring his club form to international football.
Gordopolis
So the current situation is: Dykes: out for the foreseeable with pneumonia Stewart: out for the season Nisbet: off injured the other night. Not sure how bad it was? That leaves us with Adams, Shankland, Brown, McBurnie to call on, and the likes of Christie and Fraser as secondary strikers if needed. In short: If Adams gets injured, we're in trouble for these qualifiers.

Hell, plenty of boys that are nowhere near good enough get their chance.

Hasn’t played any football since a 17 minute sub appearance in October, and has only made the Newcastle squad twice since the World Cup (first game back, and an FA Cup tie). Unused sub in both. He’ll be kicking his heels til August sadly.

What a load of absolute shite How do you think the foreign players got to the level deemed good enough to be sold, cause they got game time and improved We buy in these no marks who will never be any better than average, denying our young players the game time to improve Any time a Scottish clubs gets a decent transfer value on a sale, it's a scot, they should develop more

Satoshi
The funny thing is, pretty much every major underperforming European nation has a relatively strong domestic league (Turkey, Russia etc.). The very best performing nations like Italy or France have cosmopolitan leagues, whereas Brazil and Argentina export their best talen.t. Is there any cases where restricting foreigners has worked? Saudi Arabia doesn't let its players move abroad, how's that working for them? Edited February 4 by Satoshi

Donathan
Nisbet injury not as bad as feared. I’d imagine he and Shankland will both be in the March squad (Barring a quick recovery by BDD)
