Strikers coming through

Recommended Posts

Another one who would be eligible for us and one to perhaps keep an eye on is Anthony Gordon at a rejuvenated Everton!!!

A quick read sees that he was promoted to their First Team Squad in the Second Half of last season and got his first start in the 0-0 draw with Liverpool!!!

Ancelotti was apparently impressed enough with him to stick a new 5 year contract under his nose at the start of the season and is currently bench warming for the first team (sure I saw him coming on on Sunday) he’s played at U19 level for England but is eligible for us due to having a set of Scottish Grandparents!!!

His other set of Grandparents are Irish, pretty sure they’ll be sniffing around!!!

If Ireland have a sniff they'll have been in touch ages ago. They seem to be pretty sharp when it comes to finding players with any hint of Irish ancestry.

With the growing tug of war between Scotland and England for Che Adams, looking less likely that we will land him

Should Clarke turn his attention to big Sam Gallacher at Blackburn?

Might be the kind of target man that we need that suits our style?

Would give us a alternative to Dykes if he gets injured or suspended

Since Fletcher is out the fold and Naismith is getting old

Scored yesterday as well for them

Noticed Chris Martin is playing though

Saw a thing were Strachan was raving about him

Said the players love having Martin is the team

I aren't sure if he has actually retired

Whenever any news or footage pops up from Brentford B on my twitter feed, young Aaron Presley (18) son of Steven looks very decent, physical striker whos been scoring plenty, quite tall. Showed lots of promise, would be nice if he turned out good.

Has just made his senior debut, coming on as a late sub.

Sadly with Forss and Toney in front of him his first team minutes will be limited.

He might follow the route taken by Forss though who had a very successful loan period last year for Wimbledon, has now made his senior debut for Finland(scoring against France) and is being watched by Borrusia Dortmund, here's hoping he keeps developing.

Dortmund are just mad for the bairns like. The Jimmy Savile of football if you will.

It's a long and crammed season in the Championship, I can imagine clubs having to use their squads a lot more than usual.

Very true, an injury to either Forss or Toney and he's the next striker. Having 5 subs should give him more game time also.

He's a big unit for someone that's just turned 19, physically he's there, just need to hope he'll get the football talent to match.

I didn't know Pressley had a son playing.

Obviously the key to having a son who is good at football is to play for Hearts, Falkirk and Rangers. Derek Ferguson and Davie Weir are also in that club. Mo Johnston letting the side down.
