To be fair, I was a little concerned that the 'heads gone' momentum was veering towards the East Fife support for a minute. But never fear, Wee Sandy comes steaming in with his Primary 4 standard writing skills to shift things firmly back in the Rovers' direction.

Well played Sandy, well played.

One thing I've noticed is that the Angus teams all seem to be getting along quite well this season. Maybe that's because none of them have won anything of note and so there's more equality between them. It seems like being Fife's third most successful football club is causing some disconnect in the mind of many Rovers supporters between how they see their club and reality, perfectly illustrated by last seasons delusional claims of being a "Premier / Championship" club. And this is manifesting itself as passive aggression towards their more successful neighbours. An interesting case, no doubt.

Imagine quoting some part-timer who couldn't be arsed going to the game for some self-validation!!!
As for this 30 years shit, it's interesting to note that even including this 30 years of supposed superiority that Raith have only beaten us THREE more times than we have beaten them, that means they didn't actually get ahead on wins until November last year, so even though we may not have beaten you in the last 30 it's only been in the last 10 months that they've made up for the previous 114 years of hurt, unlucks!!!
ALL COMPETITIONS
EAST FIFE WINS = 36
RAITH ROVERS WINS = 39
DRAWN MATCHES = 18

On the rare occasions over the last 30 years when East Fife have been competent enough to play the Rovers W0 D2 L10. Oooft.

Here’s a real oddity. Since East Fife’s most famous day in 1988, we’ve only failed to beat them twice. On both occasions, the Rovers were awarded two penalties on the day - the only penalties that have been given to either side since 1988.

We were doomed from the second the dopey ref gave us a penalty in the opening five minutes.

Last time we drew did we not miss 2 penalties? Title winning season tho, so the omens must be good again.

There's actually been 13 games played in that period mate, if you're trying to be a smart arse at least try to get your facts right!!![emoji6] Still doesn't take away from the facts that even though you are obviously our bogey team, that we can't buy a win of off you and of course the well known fact that we just don't do derby's*, still you have only caught up with our Derby win total and go slightly ahead of it LAST season, unlucks!!!

Eta: *apart from Dunfermline of course, we always stuff Dunfermline!!!

As mentioned last season, as soon as East Fife beat us then this derby will automatically be relegated down to the same level as that against Cowdenbeath.  You might get an old fan who views it as being important through nostalgia, but for the most part our fans our full, proper derby is against Dunfermline.  There isn't the same level of excitement as our games against the Pars.

What's your 'proper' derby record against Dunfermline out of interest?
