shows the farce that the " pyramid" system is. Well done Shortlees, done ayrshire and the Amateur world proud

Eh?

Yes the pyramid needs to evolve so that amateur league feed into it but that's a long way off just now, any efforts to evolve the pyramid will continue to be towards trying to fully organise the mid to lower end of the semi-professional game. It will then move to involve 'cost free' amateurs before eventually taking in pay-to-play level.

Oh my, if they beat us it is only what is expected. So it won’t be a shock to anyone, we like being the underdogs, and wouldn’t have it any other way. But on a different note, I think with our new players and the way we are playing, I would be confident we would best Darvel Juniors right now,  what do you think Darvel legend.

Right now with confidence low yip I’ve no doubt about that

but if We play the way we did against talbot and hurlford there would only be one winner cunny

and ps id love you’d to beat Bonnyrigg

And at that stage it won't be a farce. Right now it is!

Cheers Darvel, I hope the confidence comes back, I really do. How many do you think the Rose would take off you’s just now then.

I tbh shows the farce that the " pyramid" system is.

Tynecastle won a qualifying competition (the Shield for winner of non members cups in the bottom level of the pyramid). Shortlees won a qualifying competition (the Amateur Cup). Shortlees won 2-0. How exactly does that show the pyramid system to be a "farce"? It shows the team which finished mid-table in the bottom rung of the senior pyramid lost 2-0 to the best amateurs in the country. Hardly outlandish - indeed Colville's results were more convincing.

Worth noting Bonnyrigg are senior nowadays, having joined the pyramid - the "farcical" one ;).

Firstly well done to shortlees yesterday:thumsup2

As for bonyrigg rose this is one helluva task now ,have saw them only last season when we beat them 2-1 up there in the junior scottish cup and theyre top notch without a doubt , a big strong team from the east who had three scotland caps in their lineup - their centre half was the scotland captain and is a free kick specialist , up front theyve got a 6 foot 3 rumbler in kieran mcglachie whos a real handful.

You just never know as bonnyrigg beat dumbarton after a replay in the big scottish so hope the lees can win this one but its going to be as tough as they come , the pitch has a good few slopes to it and the surface was heavy when we were up but regardless of the score it should be a good day with a social club and a pub just down from new dundas park.
