Saltcoats, Steelend, Kelty, Benburb, Dundonald, Formartine & Auchinleck were all defeated at worst in extra time, we were the top goal scorers in the tournament that year without the need for the usual pre-requisite double figures thrashing of someone in the first/second round. Were Carnoustie the better side on the day, yes, did they manage to score, no, did we have chances too, yes (oh for Alan Foster to have had a right foot and he would have been the deserved hero, very underrated and loyal left back!) Is our name forever engraved on that famous trophy, YES!

You just need to look at the 8 quarter finalists in the past 12 tournaments listed on the SJFA site. Of the 96 clubs that have made it to the quarters, only 33 are East Region. Only once in the last 12 years have East teams outnumbered West teams at the quarter final stage and that was 9 years ago.

PRICEY
If only there was a means of providing a 'flood' of artificial light to a sports pitch that even the poorest sub-Saharan diddy leagues can use and is restricted only by the gormless fossils running Junior football. I believe there has been a West Juniors cup tie played under lights already this season.

At least 5 I can think of, (Cumnock x2, Petershill x2, Renfrew), plus Whitletts v Glencairn in the league.
