There's a serious flaw in every single one of those "rules". 😆

Every single one.

That has to be some kind of record. Well done Brian - whoever the hell you are.

The worst one? Oh there's so many to choose from but 13, 14, 20 and 21 stand out as being particularly cringeworthy.

Its definitely Alan Partridge-esque

I’ve recently started checking the LinkedIn profiles of everyone I deal with at work. How they view themselves and their capacity to work versus what they actually fucking deliver in doing the job almost never reconcile.

Just seen an old boss posting some pish on there today about all the things that are important to do in our job. Coincidentally, all things our old company did f**k all of when we were both there. Laughable stuff.

My sector of the finance industry has been absolutely rattled all ways over the last few years, and almost everyone we deal with has lost significant numbers of staff. Means a lot of banks have huge backlogs of work, and they are all trying to recruit the same people from a constantly decreasing pool of willing candidates. I got an email on Friday from someone and the first line of it was "All of the staff who dealt with this last summer have since left and we do not know what it is or how to fix it". Checked their Linkedin profile and they described themselves as a specialist in the field and an expert on the clearing system involved, both of which were quite clearly bollocks, given it was a fairly straight forward event that took place. I don't want to be overly critical of anyone because the last couple of years in this job have been absolutely fucking awful, and there have been several occasions where I have been on the cusp of jacking it in, but what they were being asked to deal with was something that should be obvious to anyone who has any prior experience in the markets. Almost every other Linkedin profile I have checked has made similar claims that are not backed up in practice.

How can they be dual 75" TV's when they're obviously different sizes?

The amount of randoms who seem to be trying (or are being paid?) to portray themselves as some sort of LinkedIn influencers is getting ridiculous.

“Facebooking” is off the charts too. I couldn’t give a flying f**k if you were running, hillwalking or mountain biking on Saturday. How many days annual leave you offering and much you paying?

We took on a new salesman who was all over LinkedIn - something like 10,000 "followers". Every day it was some pious positivity bullshit post, real goody-two shoes sanctimonious crap.

He got fired for using the company credit card to pay for lap dances in strip clubs.  Twice.

He got called into HR and threw a wobbly when they fired him, refused to leave and it took 6 cops to escort him out. We got his company mobile back and it's full of prostitutes calling him about their availability or debt collectors chasing money.  Yet he's still on LinkedIn posting about reaching for stars and the virtues of hard work and dedication.
