Lanarkshire Derby ‘Well v Accies

Recommended Posts

What a difference playing an actual right back at right back makes instead of playing Imrie there. McGowan was great and Taiwo is better than Kante. Poor performance from us the one time we gave Miller and Bingham decent service into feet we get the free kick to win it. Cunningham should have killed the game off after a great spot from Taiwo.

Motherwell the better team but desperately lacking up front, Main and Sammon far too similar to work as an effective pair up front.

Wasn't there. Did we earn the right to play yet?

Naw mate.

In all seriousness, if you can't set up to play football at home to a bottom end side, your manager needs a right good look at himself.

Fucking dreadful.

Pish game.

Delighted with the three points obviously. Motherwell, for all their possession, didn't really look threatening apart from a couple of chances in the first half. Considering our defence is a shambles, that has got to be a slight concern for them.

Some hit from Boyd. He seems to be the only one capable in the squad of producing that type of goal. His goals against QOTS and Dundee show the quality he has, despite Robinson's insistence that he'd never score a goal again like that in his life.

We still look short in a couple of areas and the last two games have highlighted how much we still have to gel. Players getting in each others way and running into each other for example.

Pity Cunningham couldn't have scored his two great chances. The second one in particular was a real sitter.

How funny was that banner from the Well Bois? Imagine taking time out of your life to make something like that. Wild. With that, and all the anti Accies songs getting belted out, I wonder what those lads would have in store for their proper rivals Airdrie?

I wonder how many Well Bois have actually seen Motherwell win a trophy..,

Grim stuff from our point of view. If you have as much possession as we did but don't make the keeper make a single save, you can have absolutely no complaints when the opposition nick it and so Accies deserved the 3 points.

Everybody I spoke to before the game had exactly the same reaction when we saw the team - why play Main and Sammon together? Main, although some of his play was ok, is a mile off it at the moment - he is missing the target by a pretty impressive distance whenever he gets a look at the goal. Sammon was in shite target man mode again today and spent most of the game jumping into people and offered very little and should really have been pulled off at half time.

It was quite bizarre that the substitution that was designed to chuck everything at Accies actually killed it for us - we were very poor and shapeless after that point and neither Frear or Johnson were able to have any influence.  Having Bigi start was a positive and when someone actually stopped aimlessly launching it and actually passed it to him, he looked decent enough I thought.

Normally don't get stuck in to the manager or players - but they have to accept any criticism coming their way after a pretty clueless 90 mins today.

If Motherwell fans want to be reassured of how bad that result was, that was our first away league win since the last time we won at Fir Park

Somebody said after the game that half of the points you lot have picked up in 2018 so far have been against us.

Surely not?

Picked up 10 league points in 2018 - six against Motherwell.

ETA: 13 points, rather.

But seriously 360 fans for 1st Lanarkshire derby.

No crowdwank shite but that is fkin pathetic. No fkin excuses. You are a disgrace to the Premiership. Expect more from Annan Athletic.

As for the game. Totally dominant until Accies score the 1 st goal and as per usual it came from 1 st strike on target.

It beggars belief or does it. Hibs 1 st shite at goal resulted no ina goal. Same today. Accies were bowfing but we were little better.

we are in a relegation battle and we need to fkin wake up to this bollox.

That today folks right there are the two teams who will finish 11th & 12th in the league.

Unsure in which order but it’s dead on. Both sides utterly brutal however separated by a moment of sheer class. What a strike.

No point in going over old ground, but Sammon and Main just do not work together.

Been aswell playing without a midfield ball just launched over their heads. Robbo in his interview however praised Andy Rose.... why he won a few headers but don’t think he played a pass all day.

Utterly bemused.

360 fans? That's a quarter of our home support. Very decent if you ask me :thumsup2

That's why crowdwanks fascinate me.

Who exactly is 'pathetic' here? The folk who went to the game? Why should I care about 'excuses' or 'being 'a disgrace to the Premiership'? I was there today. Or are you saying I should go and watch a team with a large support?

Presumably you love Old Firm fans since they are always part of large crowds both home and away. Well done to them. Such an achievement.

Must be utterly tedious for being an Accies fan.  Any time they get a win, its usually followed up by some crowdwanking patter.

Poor performance for us, not many positives we can take.  Took a wonder strike to seperate the teams but Accies should have easily added 2 to that with the chances they had after going ahead.  We really need a Plan B.
