There’s no chance it’ll be Archibald. He should’ve been gone months ago, but we’d probably keep him even as he led us to the lowland league.

Probably Hartley, maybe Goodwin if he’s doing ok will be poached by whichever bottom six premiership side happens to be struggling enough to punt their manager.

I reckon Hartley is a good shout tbh. Falkirk's board were adding to the pressure pre-season with comments like, 'The manager has the best budget since we've been in the Championship/First Division'. He's went with a high risk, high reward strategy, but based on reports so far, it doesn't look exactly promising.

It won’t be Hartley. Even if things go badly pre-Xmas, he will be given the opportunity to make changes in the new year at minimum.
I can’t see Dundee U, Partick or Ross County being as forgiving as they are all desperate to get back up this season.

I think we have sacked one manager in 22yr, there has been a few sideways steps in Totten and May but we just don't sack managers

Hartley has rebuilt Falkirk twice and they are still looking suspect. He was a good manager at Alloa and seemed progressive but it’s went downhill from there. To be fair the the fans they have turned up and supported him but if they head into the bottom half then I think they will turn.

If the new guys are duds then that’s another rebuild. It’s pretty galling when players released are doing better at other clubs. Something went very wrong after the second playoff season. Falkirk had a great team and looked strong in every position. Was it just an end of an era, did they down tools or was Houston a bad manager? Why did he move on anyway?

I hope he stays as it’s not very often we pump you four times a season.

There’s a few Pars fans talking about the players they inherited from us but I really don’t think it’s got through to you lot that there’s no one who we’d have wanted to keep for this campaign.

Longridge at a real push, for some perhaps, but really, you’re welcome to all these journeymen....

Aye, that promotion and top 6 finish in the Premiership with Dundee was shite for them.

I watched Hippo three times when he played for you against us. He scored two and cheated a game out of nothing. I was shocked when you let him leave and that he wasn’t regarded as your best player. He’s a handful, can play on the wing and upfront. A targetman and holds the ball up. Far far superior to that Jak donkey you had last year. He’s an improvement on Declan McManus and I was a big fan of him.

Longridge looks like a good squad player who was regarded as you best player last season. At a push...

Craigan is a decent all round midfielder who has a great set piece delivery, something we were lacking. He’s even filled in at fullback and not looked out of place.

Something is very wrong at Falkirk in terms of what Hartley can get out of players. AJ isn’t outstanding but he would never build three poor squads. Even John Potter did better.

Hartley can’t even make himself look presentable.

Can’t be arsed debating all of them, I recognise aspects of the traits you mention in all three players actually. However, every one of them were frustratingly inconsistent. You could have a point re Hartley not getting the best out of them, but then again the first two of those signed were similarly inconsistent under Houstie.
Only time with AJ will tell if they will push on. Don’t hold your breath though...

John Potter certainly did not do better

Hopefully The Clown but I can see a lot of avatars being changed in the Falkirk area very soon. Bless them.

Avatarmageddon IMVHO.

There is a disturbingly high amount of Hartley avatars.

I don't think it's got through to you lot that we seem to get the best out of them time and time again,  maybe you need to look closer to home as to why that is.

It'll either be the co-managers at Ross County when they're sitting 5th at the end of January, or Hartley will do the real-life equivalent of quitting Football Manager without saving. Neither Partick nor Dundee United will want to part with the cash to sack their manager.

OK relegation slightly exaggerated,  but Laszlo is not just being judged on this season but on a number of shambolic displays under him last season as well.

A few come to mind :

Brechin 1-1 United

St Mirren 2-0 United

Falkirk 6-1 United

United 0-3 Morton

United 2-3 QoS

The shambles against Arbroath and Alloa at home in the group games, it is no wonder people want him gone.

He should have went after the play off against Livingston, as he did not I thoughthink of would give him a chance to prove himself capable of turning things around.

Unfortunately I have not seen anything to prove this is the case and do not think it is unreasonable to be unhappy with things so far.

Just because you're a seething mess about it doesn't mean that your board is about to tip a manager who they've backed strongly over the summer with his own staff and signing targets. Dundee United are in no position to write that investment off and so will wait until the situation is utterly hopeless before punting him.

Sacked or poached - You decide!

United fans absolutely detest Csaba and Partick Thistle fans are finally getting to the end of their tether with Archibald (Who incidentally, I think would be a great shout for United!). Will a club in the league above buckle and punt one of their managers and swoop for a talented manager in this division? Or even down South?

With the likes of Hopkin and McIntyre available on a free, it surely won't be too long till a team 'twists' and that's before mentioning perennial contenders like Duffy and Yogi are also available.

You reckon someone will take a punt on a lower league manager over Yogi/Duffy?

Aitken? Lennon? McInally? Bollan? McPherson? Farrell?

Could see a bigger team giving Goodwin a chance too.
