East Fife 0 Dumbarton 1

A turgid affair with the Fifers venting their frustration at Darren Young as Stevie Aitken sets up to not lose before a strong gust of Firth of Forth wind sends Iain Russell tumbling for a late penalty which is converted

Forfar 1 Airdrie 1

Tensions building since the infamous Airdrie nudger incident are forgotten as the two sides have a "thank god we don't have Bollan" love in with much Jim Lister chat. On the pitch Michael Travis scores at both ends.

Montrose 0 Arbroath 2

The Gable Endies flag day is ruined by Dick Campbell's Forfar Reserves. Montrose battle well but can't match the Lichties attacking quality as Ryan Wallace and a late Kane Hester goal secure the first of many Angus derby wins this season for Arbroath

Stenhousemuir 1 Brechin City 1

Brechin start the match with a back 7 as the worst first half of the season takes place. Mark McGuigan gives the Warriors the lead but the Maltese Falcon Dene Shields gets a late leveller as Brechin reach 25% of last season's points total on the opening day

Stranraer 1 Raith Rovers 0

The visiting fans fume as Smith sticks to a rigid 442 throughout as their threadbare squad leaves them with little options. A Jamie Hamill penalty gives the hosts the lead on the hour and Raith offer little in the way of response as demands for the manager to be sacked are made

first league game of the season, let me see very intersting debate replied by many of our league one followers....

East Fife vs Dumbarton. (3-2)

Going with a 3-2 game, with east fife going ahead first through a well worked goal by Bridey the Sons pull a goal back a bobby barr strike from 25 yards somehow  goes in then sons increase their lead by a Rory Loy header from a corner. East Fife score two goals in the last 10mins of the match by a double from Kevin Smith plus Ross Perry gets his marching orders following two yellow cards.

Angus Derby (1-1)

going for a 1-1 draw. pretty close encounter this game was to turn out to be and so it prove to be goals from Josh Skelly and Bobby Linn were the only daylight of joy with both teams had to do with a point.

stenny v brechin (0-1)

despite the stone cold music of pre-match entertainment here in Olichiview. Stenny just couldnt break down Darren Dods tight knit defence and brechin hit stenny on the counter and somehow score by Andy Jackson volley.

Stranraer v Raith (3-0)

Well despite finish bottom of the group cup table just past, Raith again lose on the opening day fixture where more injury problems happen and Smith was therefore ordered off the technincal area and sent to the stand. Goals in the game for the hosts came from Issac Layne tap in, Jamie Hamil penalty and Mark Lamont curling effort. at full time whistle the visting fans let the team know how poor this afternoon was and chants of smith out was voiced from the terracing across from the main stand at stair park.

Forfar vs Airdrieonians (1-0)

A game of two halves really but it was forfar that came out on top a John Baird goal worked in from a short pass by Murray MacIntosh via Dylan Easton that found Baird inside the 6yard box and took it round the on rushing goalkeeper of Scott Gallacher was the only goal from this match at Station Park. At 18:36 airdrie begin to either slate their goalie or their own fans on the display of a defeat that could cost their team a win over on the Airdrie topic more to follow...
