A member of the government: makes derogatory comments in a national newspaper, causing a spike in anti muslim incidents.

A random anonymous poster on an obscure sub forum: the pope has a funny hat.

You: these 2 things are exactly the same.

Absolutely galaxy brain stuff from you m9.

So if Boris said the Pope wears a funny hat that wouldn't be okay?

Be deliberately obtuse all you want, I don't care, this thread has definitely sidetracked from the Corbyn antisemitism purpose so I'm out.

Unsure if you're trolling, a genuine moron, or actually islamaphobic like Boris.

It's probably a bit of all 3 tbh.

I think it's obvious what I think given my previous posts and the alluding to the matter I just did.

For me the main issue with anything is always intent, I've already said I think the language he has used is wrong and I wouldn't advise it but I dont think it's fair to say he's racist from the context provided. The article you refer to definitely uses terms I wouldn't use but if you've read the article you would know he is attributing those words to Tony Blair, the actual point was about poverty porn...

It's like writing a piece about Donald Trump and saying "Big Donald gazes from the top of his wall at all the rapists, criminals and spics"

That clearly implies that to Donald those people are "spics" not that the author believes this.

If Boris Johnson had said he thought people were "picaninnies" then of course it would be wrong but in that article he is saying that's what they are to Tony Blair...

Boris was making a point about White saviours that the woke Twitter gang have then went on to make 20 years later, with clumsy Boris language...

I don’t believe that you actually believe this.

All the best.

Ed Sheeran should be cancelled for being a landlord with more than 1000 properties tbh.

You may mean cancelled in the 'denied coverage and no platformed in mainstream media' sense, but as with all landlords I'm choosing to interpret this as cancelling in the Chairman Mao way.

Genuinely mind bending, through the looking glass, Orwellian, Kafkaesque and whatever other descriptions you can think of.

Yeah, I remember during the last GE campaign Gove saying during a  BBC interview that the question was a "left-wing truth" but that he had a different (presumably better) truth, without bothering to provide it - debating society tactics.

In a "post-truth world" Gove is as bad as any of them, a Johnson/Trump without the outrageous persona but just as big an ego.

it's literally just the same as online shitposting with a heady combination of concern trolling (literally has the brass neck to say how concerned we should all be) and sealioning, but on fancier headed paper

And for his music?

Dehumanizing those who wear burkas and hijabs is quite clearly naked islamaphobia, and not the first or last instance from that particular person.

Your false equivalences with the pope's hat and kilts shows that you have little grasp of the issues here, and rather than show contrition, you're just doubling down after being too keen to jump in and defend 'big Boris'.

I think @Stormzy has a point to a degree.  In isolation saying that women in burkas look like postboxes isn't racist. I mean it's rude and culturally insensitive but not racist. In the context of an unaccountably popular politician with previous for racial smears saying it though the intent is clear and it is terrible behaviour.

By cancelled I mean flayed alive obviously.

Yes, that's more like it. Then dipped in vinegar.

Watching the front pages review on Sky News, the female journalist, who made sure to preface comments with "as a Jewish woman", referred to "Millions of left-wing jews" being betrayed by Labour. Regardless of political affiliation - millions? really? Neither Bastani or the anchor pulled her up on this, what I, as a Gentile* man, will call a massive fucking lie.

*Am I still a Gentile if I don't believe in any fucking sky fairy and believe that those who invoke religion, any religion, to justify their intolerance are cúnts? I mean, I don't want to be accused of anti-semitism here.
