It is definitely nowhere near as widespread as it is in and on the fringes of the Tory Party. I just think you have to either be very dedicated or have a screw loose to want to go to all these meetings in the evening. Of course it is, and as with the SNP the right-wing newspapers will focus on making them look like a party of fanatics in an attempt to marginalise them. But the fact remains Labour have left themselves vulnerable to being painted as left-wing extremists. They're their own worst enemy. There are many millions of people UK-wide who identify themselves as 'centre left' and who would traditionally see themselves as Labour voters. Labour are now in real danger of losing many of these people for good, as they stumble between incompetence, paralysis and a blind commitment to some kind of pie-in-the-sky Socialist ideology. I'm unsure if this is new or if it's always been this way, however people seem more stubborn and set in their ways at the moment than at any other time I can remember. It's like your stereotypical Express or Mail reader who are unwilling to debate or see any other side of an argument, it matters not the facts or the arguments put forward as they will stick to the narrative that is being preached and won't challenge it or look for other views or opinions. It's not just them of course as there are examples on all sides of the political spectrum from left to right to indy or whatever. For these reasons alone, I think it may prove very difficult for a self publicised "centre" party to make any sort of real headway, as the Lib Dems have found to their cost in recent times. Regarding the MSM, they're just preaching a narrative that half nod and agree with and the other half detest and see as all lies and a "put up" job, I'm generally in the camp of the latter but I do find it all increasingly tedious. Journalism always had an angle but I just feel everything is extremes nowadays and that's just feeding down throughout society and bringing out the worst in people. Can we do anything to change it ? probably not, but sooner or later things are going to come to a head and if we do end up with a "hard Brexit" then maybe that will be a catalyst for change, how that manifests itself is open to debate but what can't be argued is that some sort of change is needed, because we really can't go on much longer like this...... 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

They just had lots of people pointing out that they are venomous liars which is true. Rachel Riley stated that Noam Chomsky and Ken Loach are anti Semites.
