Total nutcase, non stop nonsensical dialectics that he thought covered techniques for making toast at breakfast. Banned us all from the house phone, before the days of mobiles, so when he fucked off for a night we spent the whole time drinking his whisky and phoning random numbers in Moscow and New York. Traditionally liberals championed individual freedom and government as a necessary evil, i.e. small government. Nowadays I hear people refer to themselves as liberals, but believe in government censorship, social engineering and a massive welfare state. I suppose it's a bit like how North Korea refers to itself as a democracy...terminology doesn't always have a universally recognised definition or is simply a veneer.
