At this level, committee members, gate checkers, half time draw ticket sellers etc are just fans given a job to do. Should all be included in the crowd.

Absolutely. The crowd at the Gala FR tie v Lossiemouth was 252...yet many of them did not pay at the gate. As it was tie of the round we had 22 young mascots, each of whom received a complimentary ticket for a parent/guardian. They stayed all day and enjoyed the match and the bouncy castles, facepainting etc laid on by the SFA. We had around 20 matchday volunteers on the day to cope with the extra stewarding that came with having the "fanzone" and the cup there for photo opportunities. Every one of them was just a supporter or volunteer in a high vis vest for the day.  We have to issue tickets to ensure that we do not exceed the safe capacity of our stand regardless of whether those paid to enter or not.

Excellent, I was given hc 228, Totally agree all 252 are supporters and should be counted

Burnie, i used to do the turnstiles at one of the HFL clubs and if anyone is in the ground be they spectator, committee, helper or free concession they go towards the licenced ground capacity limit so have to be recorded. As for safe capacities at grounds dont get me started, Health and safety gone daft.......

I presume that's because the HL (and LL) are covered by the Safety at Sports Grounds Act? That's the lowest level at which the legislation applies - IMO, given the attendances it's unnecessary, and inconsistent when it doesn't cover Junior clubs who get much bigger attendances in often less well maintained grounds.

With everyone having played 4 / 5 home games in the league now, here are the league-only averages (not including Whitehill v Edinburgh Uni which will probably drop them to about 120 but not any places).

336     Kelty
222     Spartans
213     East Kilbrie
190     East Stirlingshire
141     Cumbernauld
136     Gala
132     Dalbeattie
132     Whitehill
104     Vale of Leithen
   96     BSCG
   87     Gretna
   83     Stirling Uni
   73     Edinburgh Uni
   67     Civil Service
( 46     Selkirk )
   40     Edusport
