Just new to pie and bovril and unsure how it works  so bare with me please , whats everyones thoughts on the pyramid ? Will talbot the benchmark entertain the notion ??

Maybe take a wee bit of time and browse some of the many threads on here (and in Highland, Lowland, East and South sections), before launching in with a new pyramid one. It's a controversial subject, as I'm fairly sure you're aware, having just lit the touchpaper...

They've said no, but like the big clubs in the east will eventually be dragged into pyramid once other clubs make their move.

"The likelihood is that junior football will move into the pyramid system, and we will move to achieve that entry level and possibly higher.

"Because if we're in there we want to do as well as we possibly can. Although we've no ambitions to do it, if we're going to be going in there we'll be doing as best as we can, and that means our facilities as well.

Basically, to put it in a nutshell: everyone loves the pyramid, there is no opposition to it at all. All big junior clubs can't wait to play Elgin away on a Tuesday night as apparently, Elgin play all their home games on Tuesday nights.

And also, they play in a league that has infinite space to allow all these teams to play them away on a Tuesday night!

The lower down the pyramid the more local the games.  If a team is promoted up a few league's then they are likely to do more travelling. However the laws of gravity kick in (usually money) and they play reasonably local. If the club has a decent fan base like say Clydebank then they may want to play among the better teams in higher divisions and that may involve a bit more travelling.  However for the vast bulk of the teams they will be playing in leagues probably not too different from what they are in now. The more ambitious clubs are likely to want a better quality of football. The less ambitious will probably stay where they are.

The Pyramid is a good way forward although not perfect. The alternative vision from the SJFA has never been provided to offer any comparison.

Correct to a degree. The likes of a Petershill or Cambuslang Rangers decades ago would have played half the Senior teams off the park.

It also as it stands, not a pyramid.

Goudie ?....is that really you ??....I've missed you man !...

C'mon back in...there's lots of really interesting stuff about pyramids and all other sorts of shapes which will make fitba better for everyone. You'll love it. Apparently there will be tens of thousands at every game (you'll be able make it sound like, like, like...there was zillions at the game, man)...we can even start up teams at under 20's level in communities that don't have enough living, breathing, people to pick a squad for one team. It'll be pure brilliant so it will. Let's all lump into that.
