Although it will be different from the number of paying punters present, I agree that a head count which will inevitably include committee is valid as it provides the total number of people who are actually watching the game and can easily enough be sourced without approaching clubs directly for 'ticket' sales which might not be so easy to achieve. However, surely substitutes shouldn't be included in a head count of the crowd as has been done in the above figure from the Penicuik Athletic v Crossgates Primrose game?!

Totally agree,  players,  subs and any management / backroom staff to do with playing who are in dugout area shouldn't be counted. All others on spectators side of barriers yes.
