LondonHMFC
Didn't catch (see what I did there?) the episode last night, but enjoyed the first one. A very simple and easy watch, nothing makes me happier than hearing Mortimer scream and shout when he lands a fish. I think his autobiography is out shortly.
BigDoddyKane
I watched the first one last night, Uist was looking great. I wouldnt mind fishing there for sea trout, didnt look like anyone was fishing there at same time. Im shite at fishing but I enjoy it and enjoy being outdoors in some nice spots'. Never find enough time for it though nowadays maybe 3 or 4 times a year if im lucky.
Joe Terrapin
Fantastic telly in an almost unexplainable way. I love the fact Bob is still shit at fishing (although i'm sure part of that is to wind Whtehouse up) and his unadulterated joy and excitement when he gets a nibble is a delight. I agree it should be on longer as the half hour disappears far too quickly.
Scary Bear
I’ve been watching the new series. For me, while still very watchable, it’s not quite got the easy charm of the earlier series. They’ve been on a journey. I still enjoy the programmes but I feel they are getting bored with each other. Paul is getting a bit snippier with Bob. What are others thoughts on this series?
Scary Bear
I’ve been through all the series two or three times now. I am now starting series one again. First episode is a cracker. I like the discussion around the heart health and fishing. I find myself smiling at the exchanges between them in these earlier episodes. Bob is good with a net but he’s not great at fishing. Don’t wind!!! Edited October 5, 2021 by Scary Bear
Scary Bear
Time to watch the Christmas one again. Then the fourth series, where Bob is doing his best to be a buffoon and annoy Whitehouse. As someone who likes fishing, I found Bob quite annoying at times. When he lost that fish for Whitehouse by grabbing the line instead of using a net, I felt a rage rising inside me. Anyway, it’s great TV to have on in the background.
eindhovendee
Bob getting a salmon and converting a recording of Paul's Mum singing to vinyl for his Christmas present. Wonderful.

Wonderful. Yeah. I also enjoyed the crew audibly laughing when Bob put the pickled onion in his eye.

Scary Bear
On just now. Good to see them back. In Devon this week. Someone seems to have bought Bob a fly rod. Good to see him giving it a try. Spoke too soon. He only catches trees. Edited September 9, 2022 by Scary Bear

It remains one of my favourite half hours of the week. Could honestly watch it for hours.

Savage Henry
Loch Ness looking at its finest this week. It’s testament to how involved in the show I have become that the ending was so impactful.

The wee kicker at the end was incredibly sad, as he's spoken about his mum a few times and you could see how upsetting it was for him. Whoever is in charge of how they shoot this programme doesn't get paid nearly enough.
Joe Terrapin
Catching up on the latest series. It should be prescribed for destressing. Sublime.
