IMPORTANT NOTICE: PUBLIC MEETING, TUESDAY 12 NOVEMBER 2019, 7.30pm, VALE CLUB

All supporters and interested parties are invited to a public meeting on Tuesday 12 November 2019 at 7.30pm at the Vale Club.

The SFA have confirmed that all clubs must have floodlights in their ground by summer 2020. Failure to do so will result in their club license being revoked. For the Vale, this means expulsion from the Lowland League, exclusion from the Scottish Cup, and the loss of significant income. In the end, the future existence of the club would be in serious danger.

The meeting will discuss this as well as the general lack of football facilities in the town.

I don't see why they can't survive - unlike Selkirk presumably they don't have lots of debt and could keep going in the EOS Premier even without the SFA money. If a LL team gets promoted and Brechin get relegated then VoL would remain in the LL. Though if they are scrambling about with 6 months to go it would seem unlikely they'll have lights to keep their licence.

Going by the licensing list they had their last review in October. Maybe they'd been hoping for a full year, but got the June 2020 deadline.

That's possibly shortened the timeframe they were working towards. Hopefully they get something sorted and its not all doom and gloom.

Also adds the pressure to all other members without floodlights. Seems like no Scottish Cup next year otherwise.

My concern was where they state "the future existence of the club would be in serious danger"

In that scenario I thought bottom club got automatically relegated anyway  ?

Seems they base a considerable amount of their planning on Scottish cup money then

It's not just the Scottish Cup It's the money from SFA membership. You're probably looking at in excess of £12k a year when combined. That's going to be a significant hole in what has to be a small committee.
