tamthebam
In 1990 we had a lovely summer and England got to the World Cup Semi Finals. The PM was a women, the Tory party was divided over Europe and a blonde tosser, who had previously resigned engineered a coup against her. The Blonde Tosser stood for party leader and was defeated by a speccy twat that no-one had heard of. In 2018 we have a women PM with a Tory party divided over Europe, it's a lovely summer, England are in the World Cup Semi-Finals, and a blonde tosser has just resigned.. Now, if Karl Marx was right, and history repeats itself as farce I'm going to stick a tenner on this chap being the new PM:

Fullerene
The irony of Brexit is that almost everyone in favour of it has concluded that they are more effective as a back-bencher than as somebody in cabinet. If you are in a position of power, you are expected to come up with a formula to make it work. "Make it work? That's impossible. How the f** am I supposed to do that." When David Cameron resigned, a number of people indicated they wanted to be Prime Minister (but not quite yet). So they put their name into the hat, found an excuse to take it back out again and left Theresa May as the only one remaining. At the moment, the role is a hot potato, the same people will still be suggested but they all have their excuses fully developed for now.

It was a poisoned chalice and she was the only one desperate/stupid enough to take it.

harry94
May will hold on IMO. Her biggest strength is no one else actually wants to do the job and the party are such a clusterfuck that 159 Tory MPs would not unite against her.
