Mids pressed the ball very well and forced mistakes and if the referee hadn’t started to feel sorry for Newton it could have easily been 20 with a couple of Newton players sent off. Dust yourselves down and move on I’d say Try missing over half the team which isn’t an excuse as Mids played very well on the night in fairness and will be realistic contenders ! As for the Ref feeling sorry for them you’re clearly either a home supporter , misinformed or having a laugh as he managed to miss from a few yards away what looked like a very forceful elbow that connected to the back of the neck that resulted in a young lad not only going off with concussion but attending A&E until after midnight and another elbowing incident that left a young striker on the ground for several minutes again missed conveniently by the official. We’ve had one booking in the first two games whereas the home team must’ve received 3 or 4 on the night and could easily have had further repercussions had these incidents been identified - safe to say they've added a very street wise element to their undoubtedly ability which should hold them in good stead but I certainly wouldn’t be playing the ‘hard done by’ card with some of the treatment dished out to a team already comprehensively beaten within the opening quarter of the match. Enjoy your season as I’m sure you will and we’ll as you suggested ‘move on’ and hopefully learn from that experience

They should be applauded for carrying on, and actually played really well yesterday until the worlds worst ref took over. But by god they need to get a goalie . kenny18
Agree with you there, Newton were decent in first half, on another day could have been 3-0 up at HT. Red card at start of 2nd half totally spoiled game!

Red card at start of 2nd half totally spoiled game! Totally agree with this comment ! Tackle was clearly ( that the majority in attendance from both sides would agree ) outside of the box and the momentum took the guy in as he was falling , then the lad was dismissed for simply and calmly stating that “a half decent Ref would’ve seen that was outside the box” ! Not making excuses as everyone knows what some Refs are like but there was no swearing , no remonstrations just a poor decision and a card happy guy in the middle as per usual that completely changed the complexion of the game when the home side were clearly creating decent chances. Battled well with a man down but the numbers game caught up with them - yet another case of the Official ruining a good , competitive match with his over reactions and lack of people skills when shouting like an irate school teacher to naughty kids , someone in authority badly needs to look at these performances that are simply mind boggling and downright poor at times.
