South Fixtures 2018-19

Recommended Posts

For what I think is the first time the South of Scotland League has released a fixture list for the full season... in recent years it's usually been a half-season or so to begin with... which is now on their website:

Unlike previous seasons there is no longer a succession of midweek matchdays in August/early September and the only full set of midweek games are on the opening midweek of the season. Saturdays are devoted to league matchdays, with a few exceptions apparently as noted:

Sat 11 Aug       Scottish Cup PR1/Alba Cup R1
Sat 25 Aug       South Challenge Cup R1
Sat 01 Sep        Scottish Cup PR1/Alba Cup R2
Sat 15 Sep        South Challenge Cup R2
Sat 29 Sep        Cree Lodge Cup R1
Sat 13 Oct        South Challenge Cup R3

Sat 01 Dec       Southern Counties Cup R1
Sat 22 Dec       Christmas break
Sat 19 Jan        Southern Counties Cup R2

Sat 13 Apr
Sat 20 Apr       SOS League Cup R1
Sat 27 Apr
Sat 04 May

With teams from Queen of the South and Edusport participating the Haig Gordon Cup has 2 ties in R1 which are Tue/Wed 14th/15th August.

Potts and Tweedie cups apparently aren't being contested this season.

Excellent to see Wigtown at home the day I'm planning on being there for their book festival.

That'll be if they have a team.  Rumours around Stewartry are Wigtown and Creetown are struggling for teams with Newton Stewart not far behind.

They have friendlies lined up, new kits and training gear bought. In fact they’re playing Ballykeel FC tomorrow at Tram, only £2 entry come down and see for yourself [emoji3]

News to me... we've at least 15 signed so far and more to come.
