Fair point

although some of the previous groups were not exaclt derbys
in our case we had Bellshill, Thorniewood and Shettleston with Peasy (no idea how that came about)
At least with the new set up 75% of teams will be finished in the League Cup Section allowing the league to start much earlier - As I had suggested we are never going to get an ideal scenario
Yea agree with that but from a selfish point of view it hasn't worked in our favour. Also and although not on topic, we played Glencairn for a memorial cup, have done for many years as we do now with EK. Chances to play for those cups are now gone but just hope the memories of the guys they were named after keep going.

That's a very fair point actually.

Could these Cups be played for as regular pre-Season Friendlies, with the attendance money going the winner’s choice of charity?

Good idea, probably too late to arrange for this season though.

The Centenary Cup game we play with East Kilbride Thistle will still go ahead in our group.

Something that could be looked at. Be a shame for them to be just stuck away somewhere.

Maybe at some point during the season it would be a good idea.

For example on a Friday night if both teams have a blank weekend for whatever reason may occur, with the money going to local charities.

however someone from Maryhill could easily say  - why are we going to Tollcross (14 miles) when Yoker is closer (5 miles)

Your example perfectly sums up the magnificence and insanity of the WRJFA state of mind. God bless it!

Feel for Kennie here, going to a meeting just over four weeks before the season kicks off nothing sorted regards what cups what dates etc... give him some slack and support him. The job is a no win situation unless everyone from supporter to club committee to management committee drop the us and then attitude and all work together.

I'veevery faith in Kennie delivering... just give him a bit of slack to settle in please

Wd were trying to help you get promoted with usemoji38.png. Never mind with our best player and former captain choosing to join you for a lot less money instead of us this season you might finally manage itemoji6.png

Most sensible post you've made for decades. :P

Personally quite happy with the new format but as said it would have been an impossible task - even with your good example GOTW - at a glance it looks ideal however someone from Maryhill could easily say  - why are we going to Tollcross (14 miles) when Yoker is closer (5 miles)

It is completely unworkable to be "ideal"

Looking forward to the change and playing KRR and Ashfield - oh and another King of the North battle [emoji4]
I can see your point gaffer regarding yoker and clydebank but it's only 6 miles from Maryhill to Tollcross but even with our group it made no sense to have rob roy and have shire in the other group but it is what it is and two battles of the north in one season fantastic

Nugent did you not fancy the role or just not feel that it was the correct time ? Good opportunity  last night to get rid of  someone whos constantly let the clubs down that hes representing , instead hes gained promotion and doing less , only in the joonyurs , shambles utter shambles
