VALE OF CLYDE - NEWS FROM FULLARTON PARK, TOLLCROSS

coach

Recommended Posts

Vale Secretary/Club Delegate Mr Jim Wilson has confirmed today work on the
the Fullarton Park playing surface includes both goalmouths,  seeding, feeding,
fertilising and verti draining throughout.  Jim and Mr John Morrison were
greatly encouraged by the fantastic work carried out  - through the efforts
of many local people - prior to the recent Michael O'Donnell Fun Day.
Their hard-working organisers - male and female - raised a substantial five-
figure sum, which, in keeping with previous years, will greatly benefit numerous
Charity Organisations. Well done the O'Donnell family and their many helpers.
Vale of Clyde F.C. are honoured to be part of the annual Fun Day, and also be
in a position to further help the local community.

Good resigning made by Mr MacKay.  Vale supporters  will be looking

forward to hearing more about the squad as the pre-season sessions

gather speed. Twenty-two players went through their paces on Wednesday

evening.

A double stint awaits them this Saturday:thumsup2

Two away games from three fixtures  early doors in the Sectional League Cup followed by

the visit of Thorniewood United, who are already making moves to strengthen their squad,

on Saturday, August 4.  Three automatic promotion places up-for-grabs this season. Huge

incentive for every club in the division!

25 players at training and the committee working hard in the back ground. IMG-20180630-WA0000.jpg

GREAT turn-out for 2 sessions in some of the warmest weather we can ever

recall. Also the light lunch displayed out of the sun between sessions - at the

request of manager Mark MacKay -  was greatly appreciated by those who

attended. The difference in the surrounding areas within Fullarton Park over

the past fortnight is amazing. All down to the committee, the manager, who

has put in extra hours at the park, and more volunteers. Well done everyone:thumsup2

So pleased you are moving forward. I enjoy a wee day out at Fullerton Park. Good luck for the season , think if you can stay on the coat tails of the Gow you will be there or thereabouts.

New manager and committe will greatly appreciate your kind comments. As

yesterday demonstrated ( pre-season training sessions) everyone goes that

extra mile and more to make everyone welcome at Fullarton Park.

By the time clubs have completed around 6 league games a pattern will have

been established at the top end of the division. You take care.

Really sorry to hear that. A true gentleman. RIP Dennis.

Dennis had a great relationship with the good people at St Anthony.

Was also manager at Shettleston Juniors and Cumbernauld United.

I always found him to be very approachable on any aspect of junior

football, and I am positive his good friend Junior Gibson, whose

training sessions Dennis reckoned were "top class", will be greatly

saddened over the news of his passing. RIP Mr Curran.

More good news tonight as keeper Don Scott has signed for season 18-19 IMG_drj82t.jpg

Judging by the expression on Don's face, the pre-season sessions must be hard going:thumsup2

Don, Goalkeepers have worked brilliantly.  The lads - especially at Under-21

and Under-19 level -  have taken a great deal from 3 sessions, and everyone

has encouraged and supported  each other throughout. A real learning

process for the gks attached to amateur clubs.  Totally agree with your comments

about "great men behind the scenes" - they deserve long overdue success.

The new managers methods are like a breath of fresh air, and it is good to hear

you have bought into his methods by staying at the Tin Pail.  Good luck for the

season ahead.
