Boro have played fairly well tonight, looks like Braithwaite is going to be a really important player this season.

In saying that, Sheffield United look absolutely bogging. More than likely relegation fodder on this performance.

Looked great first half in more of a 5-3-2, not as much in the second but to be fair we were basically settling by that point bringing on Leadbitter who should really be nowhere near the team. Lewis Wing was very impressive.

Completely blew them away first 30 minutes, and took the foot off  the gas from half time essentially. Not getting too excited as SU were horrendous, but it was definitely encouraging. Thought Assombalonga linked well with Braithwaite and Downing. Ryan Shotton at right back still gives me the fear.

Traore's move to Wolves going through this morning is gutting, but was no way of keeping him once Premier League clubs started sniffing about. Hope he does well at Wolves, talent deserves to be developed. Linked with Bolasie and Jordan Hugil. Bolasie would likely be a good signing, although £15 million is a big outlay considering what Gibson, Bamford and Traore were sold for. Don't know much about Hugil (other than him being a Boro boy) other than that he's a big battering ram in classic Pulis style.

Stuart James from The Guardian has tweeted that Swansea weren't able to pay the £6.5m for Ryan Woods of Brentford and also can't afford to sign him on a loan-to-buy deal during the loan window. Do they have some form of financial problems as you'd expect a club who have made over £40m profit this transfer window to be able to afford that amount?

Really like Woods, he always plays like Xavi against us, pulling the strings in midfield and never misplacing a pass.
First home game of the season tomorrow, excited to see how McGinn gets on in particular.
Will be interesting to see how he performs and how the fans take to him in the next couple of weeks as it seems he had his heart set on moving to Swansea. McEachran and Macleod looked solid in the centre of the park last week so he may have to fight for his place back in the first team although I'm led to believe Smith loves a good squad rotation.
