Do You Like Australians?

Recommended Posts

I have a small business that involves meeting people from all over the world which I really enjoy.  I've yet to meet a pleasant Australian though.  Everybody knows that people from Russia and South East England are bell ends so I anticipate the arrogance there, but I like pretty much every person from everywhere else.  What is the attraction with going to Australia and mingling with those people?  It just seems like a big sunny Glasgow imo.

Just now, Highland Capital said:

Australians are friendly but swear a lot.

Couldn't believe the amount of times I heard a girl in her 20's swear when we were sat out on the Shore 2 days ago for a quiet drink. Can't say they are friendly tbh and I've met a lot of them unfortunately.

Some of them.

Their accent is horrible. - Bad.
Margot Robbie is tidy. - Good.
Rebel Wilson is not. - Bad.
They didn't shite it from the English like the Scots. - Good.
They seem to want tattooed, staunch Rangers supporting bams from Scotland to immigrate there. - Bad.

I’ve been to Oz for a grand total of 3 weeks so that’s probably not long enough to pass proper judgement. However my impressions of them from that time aren’t great. I found them to be very rude, loud and arrogant. And that’s not just in Oz, others I’ve met in other countries have been the same. Met some sound ones in between though.

I was speaking to someone recently who also identified that their banter is a bit “simple.” British (or Scottish if you like) banter is quite witty whereas Ozzies think someone spilling a drink on themselves is belly achingly funny.
