Portugal v Spain

Love how folk think Ronaldo is a flouncing preening fanny only concerned with getting attention when in fact he's one of the most committed and hard working players today, in all aspects of his game.
You don't score free kicks like that without spending hours practicing them.

Yup, basically the hardest working footballer that’s ever been. Freak of nature in terms of dedication to his craft.

That's a fucking outrageous goal.

While the focus will rightly be on the incredible strike, De Gea is again at fault there. He hadn't positioned the wall nearly well enough to take a position that far to the other side of the goal.

Lead commentator said that Ronaldo's was the 51st hat trick scored at the World Cup.

A few minutes later Danny Murphy pipes up with "A hat trick for Ronaldo; can't have been many of them in the World Cup group stages".

I’ve physically witnessed Ronaldo practicing free kicks on my television throughout his career. He has finally scored one.

Did he not say it was Ronaldo's 51st hat-trick?

Spain the better of the 2 teams, Ronaldo the best of the 22 players. Draw about right then. Repeat of this fixture in the final?

Used to think Messi was the greatest ever. Since 2016, Ronnie’s changed my mind.

From that point he’s won UCL x3 and a European Championship with Portugal. Wee hat trick at the World Cup tonight too.

He’s gone to the next level while Messi’s flat lined. He’s showed up in the biggest games and won the biggest trophies season after season. He’s the GOAT.

Few would deny Ronaldo's skill and level of fitness. And seemingly he does an awful lot for kids' charities and his hometown so should be applauded for that too. Guy's still a p***k, but.
