Another defeat for Blackburn, what’s going on this season??

It’s a case of not having a settled team at any point so far (particularly in defence), 7 missing on Saturday for example mostly due to a stag do, of which it turns out two are long term injuries to form players.  We actually played well last night against a good team, although we had a striker playing in the middle of the park and a fullback at centre half, and we might have to make do this Saturday as well.

Hopefully things begin to settle down after this weekend and we find the form of last season, although Saturday is Broxburn away, and then Bonnyrigg…….

There were maybe signs pre season with 2 friendlies playing out a full second half with 10 men, not due to red cards but injuries and lack of availability of players. On paper I thought the squad looked stronger than last season and have added a top striker in Darren Downie who is currently up near the top of the leading scorers list. Elsewhere in the team though it does look and feel unsettled. The past 3 games, for instance, have seen 3 different goalkeepers and 3 different centre half pairings where last year there was stability.  I had thought Blackburn were in with an outside chance of finishing in 5/6th place to qualify for next season's  EoS top division but now there's a possibility of the season being completed by the end of March!

And where should us neutral types head for a pint.  Almond Inn?

Looking forward to what will be my first visit to the new ground

Happy Valley Hotel, Crown Inn or the Bowling club, all within a 5-10 min walk
