7-2
Simon Mullock @MullockSMirror Asked Fernandinho for a word in the mixed zone. He gave me two: “f**k VAR.”

He only has one real DM at the club, and with the money spent on that squad that's ridiculous. Gundogan and Stones have both filled in for Fernandinho this season, which just won't cut it against the best sides. They tried and failed to get Fred and Jorginho last summer.

Jorginho certainly looks a neat passer but has been found out defensively a few times and Fred seems to be out of his depth any time I've seen him play. Gundogan has been the best at filling in but as you say...not good enough against the better teams.

There was a day trip company from Scotland running 2 buses from Glasgow and Ayrshire offering tickets in the Man City end. It really is quite unbelievable they don’t have enough fans to fill the stadium for a Champions Leaque QF.

Seeing them going out tonight like that was very pleasing.
TheGoon
Some game, pleased to see City go out and hopefully Ajax & Barca do the business in the next round. Pep’s team selection in the first leg and some suspect defending in the second badly cost them. Bizarre to think a team winning a domestic treble will likely be met with indifference. Even with Celtic it felt like a big deal, with City it’ll be light applause and a completely muted atmosphere whenever they get over the line. The very thing the owners brought Pep in for, he has once again failed to deliver. Very pleasing.
Rab B Nesbit
Wondered whether Porto would have a go tonight and for the first half hour it was all them and they should have pulled a goal back. Good old VAR helped overturn the offside given for Mane’s goal and totally against the run of play they needed 4. If anyone needed to understand how important Firmino is to the front 3 we saw it at half time as from then on it was just a matter of how many Liverpool would score. The semi finals of the Champions League for the second season running and what a tie against Barcelona to come . Great stadium at Porto and a lovely city.
Jambomo
I wish Ajax v Spurs could have been a final rather than the Semi-final, think it will be a cracking game.

Agreed, pep will probably win the league and it will all be forgotten because they play nice football, when in reality he's nowhere near winning the CL at city, was nowhere near it at bayern also

The domestic treble with another massive points total would certainly be a nice consolation though I would imagine. Derry Alli
"Get it right up you, Man City. You're only where you are because you've been pumped full of money from Oil and are a play thing!" parsforlife
Fantastic drama in the 2nd half.Liked the ref's expression after awarding the spurs 3rd goal, walked away from the screen completely bemused at the Man City complaints. Hopefully Ajax go on to win it. Tho it seems very strange that a club of their size, trophy cabinet and funding are being painted as plucky underdogs.

We even got the 5-3 right at the end and then the rumours of VAR started surfacing much to the delight of the Liverpool fans. -
throbber
Man City should have finished the tie off when 4-2 up on the night. How often do they just f**k about on the final 3 rd and dither on the ball or try and play an extra pass and then the chance is gone? Just put your laces through it once in a while ffs. Stirling is a good player but can be so predictable at times. Lorente put the ball on with his hip, no way could it have been given as handball. City can have no complaints but having a last minute goal ruled out like that must have hurt. Hope they completely fold and only have the league cup to show for their efforts this season.
