Hang on, isn't it to overturn when they get it wrong?

I edited my post to make it clearer.

That penalty decision still required the referee on the pitch to make the decision. The use of VAR didn’t change his interpretation of the rules.

Btw, don't blame VAR for that. Blame the referee for making the wrong decision.

It’s not VAR per se though, is it? The referee still gave the decision based on what he saw.

VAR only works if the referees are capable of getting it right.

This in itself is another flaw of VAR though - fundamentally the decisions are still being made by human beings, unlike something like the goal-line technology.

It's not an outrageous decision for the penalty, just a tough one on PSG. I think Kimpembe would have been have been well aware of where his arm was and happy to use it to block the ball but, even if it wasn't intentional, his arm would have been in that area anyway.

The excessive slow-mo doesn't help though, as it makes Kimpembe's glance over his shoulder seem more like a careful look making his decision.

PSG have to look at themselves first anyway. If they can't beat Man Utd at home they're hardly deserve to go far in the competition.
