the jambo-rocker
I was Muse until in between the period of albums Black Holes and Resistance. Their first three albums were perfect to me. I didn't think they would have gone on to become a parody of themselves and that what makes it hurt more. Then it was Arcade Fire up until between albums Reflektor and Everything Now. Arcade Fire IMO aren't there, they still have enough redeeming songs in their last two albums; the first three are perfection, I genuinely listen to The Suburbs when I'm hanging after a night out. I do not think they'll go down the Muse route, but if they go on to do an equivalent of Second Law and Drones, then Muse have hurt me enough to open up the possibility that they could. For the last year or two it's become The Manchester Orchestra, who just so happen to be currently be on their fifth album, A black mile to the surface, and it is holding better with me than my previous two favourites had for consistency. Seeing them live was better than anything I could have imagined. You never would have thought your favourites songs could be better live, but f**k me the crazy b*****ds went and did it; in their set list going with Pale Black Eye, I've Got Friends and I can barely breathe one after the other was an experience I can only describe as transcendent. I'd trade few experiences for those twelve minutes back again.
Ira Gaines
It changes from time to time, but it seems to always go back to the Manic Street Preachers, so I'm saying them.

Got into them after Simple Math and was utterly blown away after seeing them live. Every album has a different sound and they seem to be getting better and better. ‘Pride’ being one of my favourite songs. Frank Turner was my favourite ‘artist’ straight after the release of ‘Love, Ire and Song’ but he’s starting to go downhill with his releases and live performances (his live band are turgid, much better when he plays acoustic) Grew up absolutely obsessed with ‘Less Than Jake’ still listen to them now and again and still enjoy seeing them live.
