On behalf of everyone at Rutherglen Glencairn, we would like to send our best wishes to defender Kris Gebbie after the knee injury he suffered this afternoon. Kris is still in hospital at the moment, and we will give more information when we feel it is appropriate. We would also like to thank the staff and officials of Auchinleck Talbot who were most helpful in caring for Kris while the game continued.

Get well soon Kris. Great lad and great player.

Ok, so now our focus is clear. We're out of the cups, and we have 12 huge league matches left to seal our own destiny, starting with next Saturday away to Kello Rovers.

Benburb's form outside of their matches against us has been eye-catching, so we have no reason to believe they will slip up despite their tough run of away games they still have to play.

Rossvale, Cumbernauld United and Arthurlie keep winning as well, so it's going to be a real battle for the top three.

Quite a few twists and turns to come, and no doubt a few surprises. The good thing is that it's about what we do.

Twelve cup finals ahead.

It has been mentioned. [emoji6] I'm not sure if the game was filmed today or not (Gerry is still on holiday) but if it was we'll refer it to the dubious goals panel, i.e. me. [emoji16] It looked like Gary's goal from my angle, but I'm told by others that he said it was an o.g. as well.

Rutherglen Glencairn would like to thank everyone who has sent messages of concern for our player Kris Gebbie who was taken to hospital during our cup tie against Auchinleck Talbot yesterday. Kris had an emergency operation last night to repair damage to his knee and also to prevent any further complications. Kris will be out of action for a number of weeks, but he is in good spirits and hoping to get home from hospital on Monday. Kris is also hoping to be back playing for Glencairn before the end of this season.IMG_20190126_204951.jpg

No league games played for a month for us now, which is a bit frustrating, and almost three weeks since we signed Callum McRobbie but he hasn't kicked a ball for us yet. But hey, we deal with it. You can't do anything about the weather or the way the fixtures fall.

We have an enormous two games coming up now, two games which could be very significant in the outcome of the promotion race. Home to Cumbernauld United on Saturday, then away to Arthurlie the following Saturday.

Our fate remains very much in our own hands, a top three place and promotion is there for us to grab, but it's not going to be easy.

Six Saturdays into 2019 and we've only played one league match, which is a bit frustrating, but hey you can't do anything about the weather.

The forecast looks very promising for "game on" next Saturday though, and it's a huge match away to in-form Arthurlie.

'Lie are unbeaten in their last six league games, and have won their last five, scoring 25 goals in the process, so they will be a huge test for us.

Will be a really important weekend in the Promotion Race. As well as Arthurlie v Glens, It's Cumbernauld v Rossvale.

Lots of really big games coming up for the promotion contenders.

Rossvale's next three league games are Cumbernauld United (away), Arthurlie (away), and Benburb (home).

Benburb, after this weekend's home game against Craigmark Burntonians, have a run of four away games against promotion contenders - Kilsyth Rangers (away), Rossvale (away), Arthurlie (away), Cumbernauld United (away).

We'll have a much clearer picture of the promotion race a month from now.

We showed some really good team spirit to claw our way back into that game today, and we thoroughly deserved the point we got.

We finally got to see McRobbie in action, and it was the substitutions which changed the game as we went 3-4-1-2 and threw players forward.

Gormley scoring with his first touch of the ball got us going, and big Smith's 25th goal of the season just had to come against Arthurlie, eh ? [emoji6]

Great to see McRobbie in a glens shirt.

Team did really well to get back level today thought game was away from them with 20 to go didn't see it coming but bold change by the manager that worked really well.

Ill be honest after benburb away game thought we're home and dry for a top 3 finish, Just seen the table on the website how close some teams are to us alot of work still to be done.

Correct, but over the next few weeks all of these other teams are playing each other, so if we do our job well then we can't fail to gain on our promotion rivals.

Gary Smith's 25th competitive goal of the season on Saturday was also The Glens' 100th competitive goal of the season in 28 matches.

No a patch on our Adam [emoji460]️[emoji16]
