newcastle broon
Just now, Casey Jones said: A tad bit presumptuous there with Bonnyrigg. Yes they will be favourites to go up to LL, but in a 2match play off, the other potential opponents, Penicuik, HoB, Broxburn and Linlithgow are all good enough to win that mini league! And no forgetting aboot who's successful/unsuccessful in getting a license as well ?

Will be at both games to see the finale. Hope you’ve got a helicopter or you are not going to see much of the 2nd half , whichever way you do it? Is it Penicuik v Musselburgh first half and Easthouses v Hill o Beath 2nd half, or vice versa? Hope HoB win. tonight and take it from there on Saturday. Burgh played terrible in both matches against Penicuik this season. Probably our best performance of season, was beating HoB away, in the league. IF we replicate our performance of that day, we would have a chance of beating Penicuik this time around.

HOB will be kicking themselves losing to both Musselburgh and Newtongrange at home.

For these results going our way, Musselburgh would be contesting the league on. Saturday! Remember Burgh took 4 out of 6 from HoB this season - and i’d say HoB are the best team we have played this season. But whoever wins the league on Saturday will deserve it. Title is based on 24 matches, not the 2 or 3 matches that teams were either kicking themselves or considering themselves lucky!

Musselburgh will surely be more disappointed by the defeats at Coldstream and Dunbar, plus the draw against Oakley than dropped points against the top teams, costing them a chance of the title. My post was simply regarding HoB's dropped points as they took 4/6 v Penicuik but faltered against 3rd and 4th. Penicuik's late goal to get a draw v Dunbar last month was crucial as it means they don't need a win on Saturday.

No team has a right to win against teams below them. Musselburgh deserved to get beat by Coldstream and Dunbar away. Not so sure about the Nitten loss as that was a much tighter affair. As I said, it's about 24 league matches and not so much about the 2 or 3 that the 'maybe if' scenario is talked about.

FairWeatherFan
Conference A Peebles Rovers 2-3 Musselburgh Athletic Looks to have been a hard fought win for Musselburgh. They took the lead twice, only for Peebles to tie up the game. Their 3rd and final goal coming in the 85th minute. Musselburgh have now scored in every league and cup game they've played this season...except against Penicuik.
FairWeatherFan
Conference A Dunbar United v. Tweedmouth Rangers Easthouses Lily MW v. Hill of Beath Hawthorn Peebles Rovers v. Coldstream Penicuik Athletic v. Musselburgh Athletic All about the goings on in Penicuik and Easthouses today. Penicuik get at least a point and they are guaranteed the Conference champioinship. Hill of Beath need to win and hope that Penicuik lose under to pip them to the championship on goal difference. Elsewhere, Dunbar, Peebles and Tweedmouth wrap up their league campaigns.
