Penicuik Athletic v University of Stirling
Peebles Rovers v Jeanfield Swifts/Bonnyrigg Rose Athletic
Kelty Hearts v Camelon
Spartans v Tranent

Some intriguing ties... Penicuik will be favourites over a struggling Stirling Uni although they've proven cup specialists this campaign. Jeanfield or Bonnyrigg will be happy to have got Peebles. Spartans cannot afford any complacency if they're to overcome Tranent. Kelty v Camelon looks tie-of-the-round.

Any dates for these ties?

  • 3 weeks later...

After building up a great tradition of cup success in the 2000s... indeed I can recall them playing and I think winning 3 cup finals in a week about the turn of the decade... it's been mean fare for Spartans in recent years. Since their King Cup triumph in 2012-13 (in what was also their last game as an EOSL club), their only cup silverware is this tournament and the Lowland League Cup 2 seasons ago. Having already exited the South Challenge Cup and conceded the league title, this competition represents 50% of their chance at bucking that trend.

Bonnyrigg, Camelon, Jeanfield and Penicuik of course only turned senior this season, although Camelon had already secured 2 senior cup titles before the advent calendars were half opened. Kelty turned last season and won the King Cup.

Since they famously won the EOS League and 3 cups in 2011-12, the only silverware at Stirling Uni - outside of educational competition - came in the inaugural Lowland League Cup some half-decade hence.

Jeanfield P-P Bonnyrigg

Penicuik P-P Stirling Uni

Only 6 games off across LL + EOSL clubs... Hawick, Vale of Leithen, Penicuik, Hill of Beath, St Andrews and Jeanfield... but sadly it includes 2 of these cup-ties including the delayed R3 contest.

Tasty pair of Semi-Finals although the bottom half of the draw has rather backed-up.

Shout out to Camelon who finally lost in a cup-tie, meaning the last of this season's invincibles has fallen.Penicuik, Bonnyrigg and Camelon are still left in 3 cups (out of 5) while Stirling are still left in 3 cups (out of 4). EK lost that accolade in crashing at Inverness earlier.

Word just in that Camelon have just been awarded last years Eurovision Song Contest, after it was discovered that all other entries were ineligible.

A Camelon spokesman added “We went through all the application forms from all the countries, and it appears they were all ineligible. We welcome the opportunity to take another competition through someone else’s error”. :)

Reading through the other threads it seems Kelty noticed the mistake and reported it themselves?
