EoS Conference C chat 2018-19

Recommended Posts

For those of us who enjoy a 'novelty stat': the Scottish Premiership (top 2), SPFL2, Lowland League, EOSL Conference A (top 2) and Conference B are all for now at least headed by clubs from Edinburgh/Midlothian. Broxburn leading Heriot-Watt Uni on GD are the only club preventing a clean-sweep of Edinburghshire divisional leads.

If you widen it out to the whole Lothians it's a full-house of Premiership (top 3), SPFL2, Lowland League, EOSL Conference A (top 2), Conference B and Conference C (top 2).

Heady days for the region.

Broxburn have been the best team I've seen so far - wouldn't be shocked if they went on to win the league. As it stands would expect Broxburn, Camelon, Jeanfield and the Wee Rose to comfortably make the top 5.

Heriot Watt have started well but they haven't played any of last seasons East Junior Superleague or Permier League teams yet so I don't think we yet know how they'll go over the course of the season. Think the final spot in the top 5 may come down to Preston, HW and St Andrews.

Blackburn appear to have had a nightmare start to the season.

Heriot-Watt have made an strong start IMO given it's been outside of term-time. Lost at Craigroyston on midweek then 4 straight wins.

Broxburn (A) on Saturday looks formidable but their next 3 games are Craigie (H), Preston (A), St Andrews (H).

Your top 5 predictions don't look unreasonable given current standings. Stirling Uni EOS have actually pulled-off some interesting results only narrowly losing at Linlithgow, drawing at Jeanfield, spanking Blackburn and their next 5 are Ormiston (H), Blackburn (H), Craigie (A), Preston (H), Inverkeithing (A).

Aye we're going through the worst run of results probably in a decade, and it's hard to pinpoint why, although for various reasons a settled starting XI has so far eluded us, and that's not helping.

Just need to dig in and turn it around.

Finished Camelon 1 - Jeanfield 5

Some of the Mariners should be utterly embarrassed with the dross they performed today - petulance is not a virtue.

Swifts benefited from a Deans own goal and two defensive howlers to lead by three at the sausages with onion  on sticks. Anderson pulled one back early on in the 2nd and the Mariners then put two efforts millimetres wide of the post but Swifts went up the park and scored a 4th to give themselves a three goal cushion again and from then on in the game was never in doubt and Camelon ceased to offer any real sort of threat.

A final minute boot up the park saw Swifts wrap it up with a fifth.

Shocking performance from the home team. Well done Swifts on taking advantage of the opportunities presented to them and for creating their own, thoroughly deserved win,

Must be up there for result of the day, after last week's absolute horsing from the wee rose, Ormiston go away to Stirling Uni and win 3-1. Will have to check out the rule book to see if that's allowed. Shows it does help if you keep eleven players on the pitch too.

They were a good side midweek when they beat us 3-0, mind you surprised they beat Camelon so easily.

We even got a win yesterday, strange times indeed

Hi Folks,

Two quick question regarding Stirling Uni for programme notes:

1) If Chris Geddes is in charge of the first team in the LL who takes charge of the second eleven in the EoS on a Saturday?

2) Who was in charge of the reserve eleven in the EoS when that team was formed in 2013?

Many thanks, DG
