patriot1
St Andrews 1 Ormiston 1. We huffed and we puffed but needed a late equaliser to save a point. Just about over now.
FairWeatherFan
Conference C Camelon 5-1 Edinburgh United Inverkeithing Hillfield Swifts 2-4 Heriot-Watt University Craigroyston 1-3 Broxburn Athletic St Andrews United 1-1 Ormiston Blackburn United v. Preston Athletic (17.15 k/o) Linlithgow Rose v. Jeanfield Swifts (20.00 k/o) Still some games to go today, but there has been some big results already. Ormiston got another upset draw but may regret not winning after leading 0-1 until late in the game. Broxburn also looked like possibly dropping points but managed to get clear of Craigroyston. Heriot-Watt in one of today's GroundHop games will be very happy with the win. Still outside the Top 6 due to St Andrews having the superior goal difference, the University side are still in contention for Top 5.
Blowin In the Wind
All the pressure now falls on Linlithgow and Jeanfield as Broxburn continues to grind out results. Not pretty by the leaders and survived an early scare but they got there in the end. Two big games left away versus an improving Ormiston and then away to Stirling.
FairWeatherFan
Conference C Blackburn United 4-1 Preston Athletic I just added the mini goal difference column to show how tight it is in the battle for 5th place. Preston still hold the spot, but their season is now over and they are reliant on others to stumble. Blackburn having seemed out of the running for so long might just have a happy ending after all. Heriot-Watt are the only team that know that winning out will be good enough. The final fixtures for those involved April 13th Edinburgh United v. Heriot-Watt University St Andrews United v. Linlithgow Rose April 20th Edinburgh United v. Blackburn United Heriot-Watt University v. Camelon Juniors
lowenan
Think Preston blew it now. Even if they end up 6th it won’t be enough.
LongTimeLurker
Looks like Blackburn are favourites as long as Camelon play their strongest possible team. Think they will probably still have cups on the go at that point, so there's a good chance they will.

HibeeJibee
You can almost forget 6th place from this conference. Leith in 'A' have 34pts and Dalkeith in 'B' have 32pts with 3 to play - clubs behind them having from 30pts to 27ts with 4 or 5 to play - so inevitably 'C' will provide worst 6th place. Which is interesting given, on paper, it was marginally the "weakest". Anyway by my reckoning you've got Preston sat on 32pts... St Andrews able to reach 32pts (but only if they beat Linlithgow at home)... Blackburn able to reach 32pts (if they win at Edinburgh Utd)... and Heriot-Watt able to reach 35pts (if they win at Edinburgh Utd and beat Camelon at home). However the students have the worst GD of all and they're followed by Preston while St Andrews have the best GD of all and they're followed by St Andrews. Four-way tie on 32pts quite conceivable! Heriot-Watt Uni have it in their own hands... 4pts from those 2 games has them home-&-hosed. Preston need everyone to falter. St Andrews need to shock Linlithgow, hope Blackburn don't themselves win by more goals, and HW Uni falter. Blackburn need to win what most will consider a winnable game, but hope St Andrews and HW Uni falter. Burnie_man
We have a chance, and have to rely on others, but after the start we had to the season I'll take it. Great performance today, what a season of ups and downs.

Your finishing was good today, Preston definitely weren't as bad as the scoreline suggested, but you guys were more effective.

Two up after 4 minutes certainly settled the nerves a bit. Deserved winners but Preston were more in it than the scoreline suggests. A win at Edinburgh United in 3 weeks time is all we can do, and let fate decide. Won't be easy though, Paties Road never is.

FairWeatherFan
Conference C Jeanfield Swifts v. Edinburgh United Linlithgow Rose v. Inverkeithing Hillfield Swifts The Battle for 5th takes a break this weekend. Jeanfield can climb to 3rd with Camelon not on Conference business today and Linlithgow can't afford a slip up against IHS.
FairWeatherFan
Conference C Jeanfield Swifts 4-1 Edinburgh United Linlithgow Rose 4-1 Inverkeithing Hillfield Swifts And so concludes Inverkeithing Hillfield Swifts first season in senior football. It's also a full circle moment as they started and ended the Conference campaign against Linlithgow Rose. Having started with a 0-10 loss at home, the 4-1 defeat won't seem so bad. They can also look forward to next season where they might be surprisingly competitive when you look at where they got their points: 5 Wins (Ormiston x2, Craigroyston, Stirling Uni EoS and Edinburgh United) with the sole draw also coming against Stiling Uni EoS.
