Piss the SFA off.and they will come back with some other ground criteria.ie,seating amount of cover for spectators and pitch gradients etc.

If there was any kind of pitch criteria the tottie field at tynecastle would be the first to suffer.

B57 said Tynecastle specifically so I was surely right to assume he was talking about the ground of Heart of Midlothian   I would think that Boroughmuir Rugby  Club will not be too chuffed at having their pitch refered to as a * Tottie Pitch* being one of the Premier teams in Scotland who have first class facilities away and beyond comparison with many non league football stadiums I have been at this season.
And a pitch that was full of sand and was more ploughed field that bowling green when we played there.

Well I was passing Meggetland last week and chose to go in and have a look and see what state it was in after the rugby/football season.

I must say I was a bit disappointed, it looks like grass seed had been sprinkled around with a pile of sand and the grass was needing a good cut, otherwise the Cup Final at the end of the month won’t be much of a football spectacle due to the length of the grass.

So be worthwhile checking it gets cut before the Cup Final.

Are you referring to the *Tottie Field* of HOM or Meggatland. when mentioning Tynecastle ?  AND is it relevant ?

The point being that there are far worse pitches than Bonnyrigg

Not 100% sure whether you're trolling or just don't know.

Bonnyrigg submitted an application for derogation in respect of the floodlights. The clubs were then strung along by the SFA who refused to grant any licenses or give any indication of when decisions might be made. All of the clubs hands were tied, as they had been all season, by the intransigence of the sports governing body.

Indeed the top 2 essentially stood in front of the gathered EoS delegates at Easter Road and claimed they had no idea when decisions would be made when the cynic in me suggests they know fine well what was happening.

The SFA probably hoped that either Broxburn or Penicuik would win the play off to avoid this situation (or more likely couldn't care less and hoped the clubs would just accept what they said).

Don't see any change being made to the current decision. It will be a seven day wonder.   Move on.  Bite the bullet.

Planning permission will be granted. The Bonnyrigg councillors will see to that at the next  Council meeting.

Its Tender time for the Groundwork 3 Phase Cable and Lighting columns Foundations.

Get the columns  and lights you have in storage to NDP and erected.

Have them tested and passed by the Power Company as fit for purpose.

You now have what you require for the next Audit.

Job done       if all goes well for the start of the new season. but its the construction industry and time scales and *added costs* always raise their heads along the way.

Never FAILS be aware.   A good/knowledgeable site supervisor is worth his/her weight in gold.

Good Luck.

No idea why that's a reply to me.

Sorry if I offended you Gordon S       But your post was very appropriate to the town folks response to the refusal of the licence.  Hence my subsequent post utilising your very timely post.    Still maintain its get on with the work to be done professionally.

Ah ok, I was worried I was missing something!

I am sure you pay close attention to the NDP pitch when the Professional TURF consultants  come in pre-season for the annual seeding sanding etc.60 + tons of sand spread over the pitch and yes there are lumps here and there.  Maybe Meggatland is having its annual make over ?  pitch will be cut to meet the EOS requirements on match day I am sure.

Pitch looks class and is REALLY well kept, rugby one week and football the next. In a sense they've been lucky.

NDP is in great nick at the moment.

Yes it’s an excellent venue but not much of a game in prospect if the grass is too long.

Maybe we can get some rugby coaching when we are at Lasswade Rugby Club on Saturday for the Player of the year awards. LOL

C’mon the Rose

Who decides the grass is too long? Brenden Rodgers tried to implement a rule on it but don't think it passed hahaha

Don't know much about Edinburgh Liesure and their machinery or working practices but can assure you as a member of Boroughmuir Rugby and Sports Club they do have the necessary equipment to trim the grass for your game a week on Sunday. How short do you want it ?

I also know nothing about Edinburgh Leisure and have a lot of time for  Boroughmuir Rugby Club and their standing within local community and beyond.

I thank you for your offer on the length of the grass but it is better if someone from the club answers that question not a humble supporter.
