Deanburn Dave Posted August 1, 2018 Author Share Posted August 1, 2018 I thought we bossed the first half and should have been out of sight. The ball was on the deck, there was some decent passing and movement but the finishing was poor. Second half I expected an avalanche of goals but as so often the BU's made the fans suffer. Substitutions wrecked the shape of the team and long balls up the pitch seemed to be the plan of attack. Once again it didn't work and giving away possession so many times encouraged our opponents. The Leith goal was a stinker for the defence. Two players cannot block a cross and a midget heads in the ball between 2 centrehalfs. Leith had a great chance to equalise but Marshall pulled off a fine save. Far better with big McKenzie up front through the middle and thought he was excellent tonight. The guys started showing much more energy than at the weekend. Their passing was sharper and more accurate too. Gemmell was everywhere as usual, getting stuck in and MacKenzie up front had a good game despite receiving no protection from the ref. MOM though has to be Morgan. Loads of work to do on the fitness front........and the shooting front.
