Bo'ness United 2018/19

Recommended Posts

I was checking out Twitter and see that Boness United JUNIORS have signed Charlie Adams ......but it's not the Stoke/Rangers Charlie Adams. Having a twitter name of BonessUnited for the Junior side may confuse.

So let me get this right...

@nessunitedfc (pish @ IMO) is the official BU Twitter and @bonessunited is now going to be for the Junior side?

It is stupid having two for the same team to be honest, but the official account should have Bo’ness in it. We don’t come from ‘ness’.

Looks like some number of goals he’s scored this season. Think he’s very young too so perhaps one for the senior side in a couple of seasons if he develops well in the Juniors?

Fair weather fan is right. The @bonessunited twitter account is linked in with the unofficial BU website. The tweet makes it clear that Charlie Adams has signed for the new juniors set up.

Sorry for any confusion.

I can understand the confusion. @bonessunited retweeted a photo where it says Charlie Adams has signed for Bo'ness United Juniors, but the account then puts up an original text post where it doesn't differeniate what version of Bo'ness United he signed for.

At the moment Linlithgow Thistle are still using that name on their twitter feed and other social media. I imagine they'll be rebranding under the Bo'ness United name soon. Hopefully the use something to make it clear who they are and not "bonessutd" or something like that.

This season hinged on the semi final against Haddington in October. We won with 10 men in a run that saw us lose only one in a dozen. Two weeks later we were out of a potential big Scottish Cup qualifying opportunity because of a clerical oversight and we had only 9 outfield players available out of around 20 and were reliant on a player's brother and players coming off nightshift to field a team against Bonnyrigg. It was no surprise we got beat by three. Had we had a team of players playing for a cup final place it would have been so very different. Post that defeat Kerrigan looked and sounded like a dead man walking. The hat tricks (including for defenders) dried up, we lost points at Tynecastle and other games we'd have expected to win. We had suspensions (including Kerrigan) and Michael Gemmell covering full back and centre half positions instead of driving the midfield. Tranent was the final straw. The same set of players (less peripheral players let go and Nicky added) won 17. Tougher training sessions twice a week don't make that change in isolation. Attitude and application changed too. Kerrigan must wonder why they didn't continue to do the same for him.

Training made a heck of a difference.  We would never have got through one extra-time match with Kegs in charge, let alone the three we did.  You have to look at tactics too.  Constantly altered by Max to react to a situation, not just standing silent and cross-armed and clueless.  Kegs was a nice guy, maybe too nice.

Have to agree with you Jambo. The recent match against Tranent showed his tactical awareness and the need to change things when we went in front. We got a few breaks that night and he made sure we didn’t feck it up.

Keg’s cost us the Hurlford quarter final last season by his failure to manage the last 15/20 minutes. Some of the senior players were not happy with his tactics in that game.

IMO wasn’t ruthless enough, good coach by all account but maybe management wasn’t.
