BU Twitter from 2 hours ago says there has been another act of vandalism at Newtown Park and "extensive damage to the pie hut".

Hopefully they are tracked down, convicted and punished.

Correct - they should string the individuals up.

Come on DD you know that won't happen. There is never any witness's around and by the time the Police get to the scene there probably won't be any evidence. However, if caught these scroats will get a slap on the wrist end off and the Club are out of pocket.

The biggest problem is no local Policing.

Yes there is, stationed usually at the doughnut counter in Tesco.

What I don't get is the motivation of these idiots - I'm assuming they are youths from Bo'ness, why would you want to make your own community worse off? This is where you stay and you want to destroy it?
F**cking madness.

Sadly it’s the state of our society. Notice a couple of shop windows broken in the high street as well. Total morons.

I suppose at root the motivation will be the same as it's always been for kids (or as we're supposed to call them "young adults" as they may well fall into the bracket) to commit vandalism... the thrill of doing something 'wrong' and 'risky' without there being much risk of actually being caught; the sense of rebelliousness; the chance to show off in front of your mates about how tough and bold you are. In some cases, no doubt, also a relish and sense of power in damaging something others enjoy with impunity.

Difference nowadays is a reduced chance of being caught or even the fear of the possibility of being caught (fewer police about); the reduced consequences of being caught (little punishment from the courts, if even charged and convicted - and less ostracising in society); and a reduced sense of community meaning fewer and fewer places these vandals would balk at the thought of attacking out of a sense of "right 'n wrong". You also wonder if the parents have a clue where their children are and what they're doing.

In the past the tailend of the summer holidays would see vandalism and arson committed on abandoned buildings and suchlike but it seems nowadays anything is 'fair game' all year. It's often put down to kids being bored and "not having anything to do". In reality the facilities they attack are often providing exactly such outlets.

Unfortunately until the punishments are meaningful and fit the crime such mindless acts will continue.   A CCTV sytem which is switched off to save money!!

I’m assuming the culprits are local, in which case, what totally baffles me is why they would vandalise the football ground in their own town? Utter mouthbreathers.

Thrashed 0-0 !!!
It was a point gained for the BU's IMO.

I keep reading how use continually out play teams and don't get your rewards maybe it will level out through the season. Gutted the friendly is cancelled, was looking forward to putting the last game (defeat)  to the right.
